Aiton still in dark with ASADA situation

Leeds Rhinos hooker Paul Aiton has admitted he is still unsure over his current situation with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority – as several of his former Cronulla teammates reach the end of their suspensions from the organization.

Stars like Sharks captain Paul Gallen were given backdated bans which struck them off from featuring in the end of the Sharks’ 2014 season, but Aiton – as well as Catalans star Ben Pomeroy – were not offered the same deal by ASADA.

That left Aiton effectively in the dark over whether he would even get a ban of any kind, and he revealed that he’s still not sure what is going on regarding his situation – saying he simply has to focus on his game.

“I spoke to a legal team back in Australia but nothing has come from it, so I’m basically just concentrating on rugby [league] as much as I can,” Aiton said.  “It’s not a good feeling at all. Family and friends were like, ‘What’s this about?’ and they still are – I genuinely don’t know anything.

“Unfortunately, it is what it is. I can’t do anything.”
