Bowen can get even better, says Wane

Wigan head coach Shaun Wane insists full-back Matt Bowen will get even better, after he deemed his start to the season as “satisfactory”.

The 32-year-old has big shoes to fill at the Warriors this year with the departure of Sam Tomkins to the NRL, but Wane told BBC Radio Manchester that he is improving all the time.

“I know him [Bowen] very well and I know what he’s capable of. He’s got a 50% increase in performance in him,” Wane said.

“He’s not doing what we want him to do yet, but he’s improving.”
