Crowd Watch: Super League fixture analysis, Round 23

Welcome to our weekly look at the crowd figures across Super League, as we examine the attendance stats for Round 23. After our piece which detailed just how clubs were doing in terms of overall average attendances, we’ve decided to go one better and look at each fixture from the previous round – comparing it to the 2013 equivalent.

We’ll look at the comparison between the 2013 and 2014 clashes, as well as seeing how it affects the seven clubs that were at home and their overall averages for 2014.

Castleford Tigers v London Broncos – Att: 5,233

Hull FC v St Helens – Att: 10,214
Last year’s crowd for corresponding fixture: 11,250 (Down 1,036)
2014 gate up or down on season average: DOWN (Previously 10,536)

Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls – Att: 16,009
Last year’s crowd for corresponding fixture: 16,604 (Down 595)
2014 gate up or down on season average: UP (Previously 14,475)

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Huddersfield Giants – Att: 4,317
Last year’s crowd for corresponding fixture: 8,467 (Down 4,150)
2014 gate up or down on season average: DOWN (Previously 4,375)

Widnes Vikings v Hull Kingston Rovers – Att: 5,345
Last year’s crowd for corresponding fixture: 5,715 (Down 370)
