Awards will be presented at the 2004 Clubs Meeting (30 Oct in Oldham, before the GB-Aus Manc test), where the 2004 RLC Dream Team will also be announced.

It's great to see our own Dom Swann nominated for Player of the Year. He had a tremendous season, breaking more or less every club record and ending up top scorer in the South West Conference. He's now also played in every single 13 a-side fixture the Sonics have ever played.

Nice to see our programme getting a mention, too, after being ignored last year. What can I say, I'm chuffed

Surprised Chris Storey of Rotherham doesn't get a nomination for young player after getting selected consistently for the Lionhearts. Derby deserve their nomination for club of the year. Their first team were massively improved from last season, despite losing some key players (apparently rolleyes.gif ) and their youth programme continues to be a success in the face of certain local impediments.

(also reckon Nottingham's programme had a certain je ne sais quoi wink.gif )

Key players!?! Just culled some dead wood biggrin.gif (don't tell them i said that)

Good to see the hard work that goes on off the field is being rewarded and acknowledged. I'd like to say a big public thanks to all those involved at Derby behind the scenes, Jez, Trev, John and Hazel. Thanks for the season running so smoothly.

Congratulations to all the other clubs and players nominated.

Players player/young player : how young do you have to be to be nominated for young player of the year ?
Best new club, NO Widnes Saints or Weatherby ?

Wonder how many clubs didnt bother with programmes? I only know of the Wizards that bothered to produce one in the South Mids division.

No wonder there is no trace of South Midlands in ANY of the categories. Bit disappointing for those players that have played well all season, and clubs that have performed well and grown this year. Maybe there is merit in having a representative from each division being nominated for the awards.

I was surprised that your programme at the Wizards wasn't nominated.

The interviews you have done with key pros this year have been good to read.

Assuming Phil Caplan or David Lowe had received copy of your programmes, I guess the standard must have been extremely high for you not to be put forward for this award.

Well done to all of those nominated for any of the awards.

Something for the rest of us to aim for in 2005.

Shaun Carver has carried on where he left off in the Summer Conference by scoring 4 tries in 2 Yorkshire Senior division games for Moorends, this time he is back playing in the pack after scoring 17 tries in his last 6 games for Thorne Moor Marauders as a centre

we're well happy at ipswich we got 4 nominations again. Not sure how we'll go on them though. In terms of club of the year i'd be surprised if we got it as we had it last year but to be honest we deserve it a hell of a lot more this year than we did last. PR and media would be good as we've got a guy who really puts it in on that front.

Good luck everyone. I'll be there on the 30th. Little bit disconcerted it's taking place in a school. May have to smuggle a carry out in to loosen meself up for the game later on!
Did anyone else feel that Mel Gibson's remake of the classic Life of Brian wasn't anywhere near as funny as the original?

La Manga for an elite performance camp???? Nah we'll be at medlock primary......back pocket o' t'farahs!!!!

Good to see Peterlee (who's he?) amongst some distinguished names.

Busy time at the Pumas at the moment with all the youth teams and the women starting to look for games too. Hoping to get a project launched with the local 6th form colleges in the area to get kids playing in the primary schools soon, but more immediately we will all be making an appearance at the Thunderdome when the NE students take on the Aussie Students.

Looks like exciting times about to start in the North East with more clubs and more youth teams coming on board and finally thunder are making some real exciting signings who look like they can play a bit too. That alone will boost Rugby League in the area and bring even more kids into the fold. Will have to start circling the wagons soon I think.

A lot of the lads who played during the summer have asked for league all year round, not quite enough yet, although a 9 aside team would be achieveable its a good start for the first year.

Can anyone tell me where the meeting is on the 30th? We have been told we can come along.............but not told where it is!!!!
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
