I didn't hear the interview but it's interesting if true!

I would have thought Salford's position looks precarious if an axe is to fall on one of the SL teams.

So thats Widnes going up then!
Did they say there would be 16 in Super League after the next round of franchising? or did I dream that? because that would free up 3 spaces, my guess would be Widnes and a new Stade Francias RL side taking 2 spots.

If I was a salford/wakey fan I'd be cakin me sen!
I note Salfords recruitment isn't earth shattering. Perhaps they're already preparing for the news that they are doomed!

More so for Trinity fans, If Salford go, Sale can take a real strong hold in Manchester, so SL would be reluctant to remove them.
Also heard rumours of Bristol Sonics moving upto Championship rugby to develope a rivalry with the Crusaders at Newport. (slightly relevant to us as we have a former Sonics player)

given my job and particularly leftist pinko outlook, this doesn't put me in a ggod light.
But if this is genuine, I'll probably get some kind of voyeuristic satisfaction in watching the vipers turning on each other as the SL clubs in turn justify why they should be the ones to remain in the competition.
Jeez, I need some rugby to watch instead wallowing in my grumpyness this weekend!

And here's me thinking that the 2012 franchise applications haven't been made yet.........
Further confirmation of the farcical nature of the process.

It's not farcical Les, it's as near corrupt as is possible. IMO Wakefield will be made to pay for promises not honoured and Widnes will be promoted. Even though in reality Quins and Celtic should be tossed out as a waste of time and cash. The two teams with the best application should then be promoted.

Why Widnes and not Barrow?
The truth is out there?

For me Widnes just shade it because of their ground.

How good would that be if whoever they chose turned them down over staying in the Cahmpionship where anyone can beat anyone on their day. I love this league we are in, i just wish we'd get back to winter where the game belongs. If i recall it was one of the main reasons they used for giving us a chance to beat the Aussies- Summer rugby!!

Listening to him what is the point of the very expensive, time consuming application process, they have decided ones going out and ones going in, regardless of who does and who doesnt apply. They already know who the effected clubs are. I would have more respect for them if they just picked the clubs and not bother with the applications and the box tick bull. When applying for a sport england grant it says on the form does your group exclude or partially exclude anyone, i reckon the RFL are guilty of at least partial exclusion, and Lewis should go

Agreed. It would save an awful lot of time and money if they said to each club "you're playing in that league, end of"!!
I have little or no faith in the management of Rugby League.

I have no faith. Too many rule changes for the sake of change and not for the sport. too much interfering, and rules that are simply not fair! They have taken the hope away from fans with the franchise system.
UP THE ROVERS!
