New Year's Resolutions?
#1

For once I am making New Year's Resolutions;
1. Lose weight - somewhat obvious, but I am going to make a serious effort for once.
2. Be happier - especially being happier without depending on others.
3. Look out for number one - this putting others first lark hasn't got me anywhere.
Anyone making any?
Yes, there are the usual sceptics who say why should people make changes on one day of the year, but we are at that day, soooooo tough titties!

When I stopped smoking 5 years ago I decided to do it from January 4th just in case I didn't do it . Then no one could say that I had broken my new years resolution!!

I know that will entail one day heading north again.
That will need a big improvement in the job market, so got to sit it out here for now.
Smoking has to go, but don't feel I can do that from tonight.
Sometime in Jan though.
As I posted in the Noughties thread, the last 10 years has been gruesome, so the next decade is when I try to do something about it, stop drifting from crisis to disaster, get it sorted to be my turn.

but you turned it round didn't you GC if I remember. I hope things turn out alright.
this year will be my 61st. My resolution is to make the utmost use of the time I have left on earth in terms of what I get out of it, and what I put into it. I still have a monkey of under achievement on my back and things within my rleationships that I feel bad about.

Mostly, L'Angelo, but although my health is stable and my daughter has moved in with me, I find myself in a rented house, in a job which barely pays the rent.
If I don't quit the cigs my health will go downhill again, I got to drink a lot less.
My personal life is a mess, and relatives seem to die on a bi-annual(sp??) cycle, not always old ones.Nowt I can do about that bit though, but it does get you when you suddenly find yourself 3rd most senior in the family, instead of 7th.I'm still in my 40s.
What I'm trying to say is I spent 10 years picking myself up from the canvas, I'm now going to try to avoid being knocked back down again.

2. Get out of the sh!thole called Carlisle and move back down saaf!
3. Re-evaluate my list of 'friends'.

2. To lose weight
3. To waste less time on this forum
4. To be more efficient, work-wise
5. To get to more games
6. To give up making new years resolutions.

Haapy new year everyone xx
Out of interest, who were you last year, then?
Were you pretending to be someone else, or was someone else pretending to be you?
Is the imposter now threatening to reveal themselves, or are you going to announce your real identity?
1 simple resolution throws up too many issues here....

I don't smoke, haven't since the last Tory government !
I don't gamble !
I haven't had a drink since the middle of October !!!!!!
I have lost a lot of weight in the past few months, put on a fair bit of muscle and now run 5Km 3 or 4 times a week AND I row 5Km a couple of times a week AND I hit the weights too, in fact I'm fitter now that I have been at anytime since my late 20's !
I don't even own a sodding car !
I'm working 6 or 7 days a week already !
I'm very close (3 or 4 months) to paying my mortgage off ELEVEN years early !
I haven't had a night out in months !
I've forgotten what #### are for !
I haven't even seen a working motorcycle in almost 3 months.
AND
I'm stuck in the middle of a f*&$in war zone !!!!
If I was any more wholesome they'd make a feckin Disney film about me.
WHAT MORE DO YOU LOT WANT, BLOOD ?

Happy now??????????????
NO, in fact I've thought of a few more !!!
Oh, and that's a 1960's Yamaha 2 stroke 250cc twin with a 54mm bore x 54mm stroke motor layout, nicked from the Adler design of the early 1950's, which is like posting up a feckin picture of Johnny Wilkinson and saying "Happy now??????????????"
NO I'M FECKIN WELL NOT !
