Well said - our Star arrived 15 minutes before our morning paper today. We are getting a bit pi$$ed off with it and may well decide not to get it (The Star) delivered for much longer.

It appears to b the same with all evening papers now the scarborough one is printed in Brimingham and arrives in town at 5.30 am how can that be right - and whats has happened to the poor old paper lads - when I was one I started after school couldn't have got up at 5.30!!!

With reference to Richard Lee, he made his final appearance at the last DVS match. I think that no-one, from CE or Directors, recognised that fact should be ashamed as it was not mentioned. I only found out after the game. He uses his equipment, as does Gary (at BL) uses his own and the incumbanent PA announcer obviously does not like "outsiders" using personal gear, and Richard felt the same, but nothing had been said to him re thanking for services and for the crowd to show their appreciation for all his work over the years.

I agree that it is a shame that nothing was mentioned about Richard Lee's work at the DVS. He did a fantastic job [and a mean Elwood Blues impression too cool.gif ]!

Will he not make one last appearance at the DVS against Barrow on June 27th???

Someone said further back that the club want a programme but the RFL don't - Sorry i'm new to forum so still learning how to quote and that!

But anyway, why to the RFL not want the eagles to produce a programme?

Also I don't think the eagles are fulling tapping into the student population. I mean all round Bramall lane there are student houses and right across the road in a number of direction you have student accomdation - The Forge, 700 students, the trigon, 300 students, bramall court, archways, leadmill point, the anvil. The list goes on an within half a mile, mile of the ground there must be at least 7,000 students living in the area. Now it's got my on board but speaking to a two friends living in the forge they said they didnt hear anything about the game. No flyers, posters anything around the halls. They've never seen RL but said a fiver to get into BL is great and hopefully i'll be dragging them along to the next game after wigan!

But if the eagles need the bodies to promote then alot of cash-strapped students would more than happy to help if a free ticket or two went their way!

Some fair comments and again worth passing on.
Re the programme.... the RFL hasn't just stopped Eagles..... it is all Championship Clubs in both divisions. Every club has to BUY the "game on" from the RFL , thus has to sell them at double the price(2.50) so as not to be out of pocket.

So many clubs, let alone supporters, hate the rfl prog as they do not want to pay for irrelevant info, and would like to see local info in a 30 page prog. The rfl have effectively stopped local sponsorship.

Actually mate I work 20-26 hours a week in my part time job. Might be McDonalds but in a manager there too. Lot of students I know have their tuition fees and accomdation paid for from mummys and daddys little trust funds and haven't done a days work in their life! I don't and work alot to pay for it as well. Now for myself 10 to watch the eagles on a sunday (when i usually need to work) is alot of money and time for me (some students I doubt it) and i'd like to thank the club for the hat-trick pack and cheap season ticket offer for the rest of the season that has got me watching the eagles.

Also eagletarian i'm in work today on a 12-9 actually so pop down to granville square maccies and you'll see i'm not a scrounger, have a job and don't need to visit ant job centre or angency.

Thanks.

As usual my post reply was corrupted, I never called Liam a Scrounger.....I said this, inferring his posts were rubbishing students, something I am violently opposed to ..."stop giving students the scroungers tag"..........

Now now...violence never solved anything.

Well I'm looking forward to the game today. Will have to slap on some sun cream I think, being as though we're all sat in the sunshine in the north stand.

Hope everyone enjoys the game. The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon [especially after a hard morning's graft beneath the golden arches!]

Fev still produce a programme. You're right about the 'Game on', not many fans i've spoken to like it. I think it was introduced to help clubs who couldn't afford to produce a programme.

This was my posting below.....A good students skill is in reading and replying to the text displayed to him or her......Where did I say you had no job? Or told you to go to a Job Centre? As per your first sentence, highlighted in (Socialist Red)...............I apologise if you suffer from dyslexia, I have had to manage a number of students in the past with this unfortunate affliction....
