St Helens and England half-back Kyle Eastmond could miss the rest of the season and the Four Nations with an ankle injury, according to coach Mick Potter.

This is the worst news on the injury front after Bridge's injury last week. Eastmond was in fine form early on and just back from injury and now we will be weaker in the halves. Lets hope Myler can get back to fitness and form.

This season has been bonkers, we have had 1 match with a full side out. I'm amazed we are still in 3rd to be honest. With Dixon and Cunningham out and Pryce dodgy it's going to be some line up at the weekend.

Really sad news. He is a great talent. Sam and McGuire will do a decent job but we'll miss him.
I hope he spends his time off signing a longer contract, as it would be a tragedy to lose him to the Dark Side.

He's down the pecking order, I agree, but with this injury, we're having to look down the pecking order.

If he was fit and in good form I think Horne would still have a lot to offer. Even if he did play for Scotland too.

As bewareshadows says it still surprises me that we are 3rd given a horrific season for injuries but the young lads have stood up to the job & I am sure they will again.

Its like emergency ward 10 down KR.....think I shall go offer my services

good boot on him, that is all.

He hasn't even had that this season, in the games i've seen him play in his kicking has been pretty average with the exception of a few good short kicks near the try line.

Brough is nowhere near good enough for Internationals. He has a bad attitude on the field, causes disruption in the squad off it, and is nothing special in the skills department. There are at least half a dozen other established players i'd pick ahead of Brough and a similar number of promising youngsters.

Providing everybody remains fit and on form, then you would expect that the main players for the half positions would be Tomkins (at 6 or 7), with McGuire, Myler or Brown taking the other spot.

Then you have Pryce.

Either way, we don't need to go as low as Brough and Horne IMHO.

Whoever does well in the playoffs has the real advantage.

Surely some mistake, according to Eddie and Stevo, Leeds are the only side to have had injuries this season, everyone else is fully fit.

Can't Brown cover centre as well? Maybe that will get him in the squad.

I think we should stop being worried about putting players in. As we saw last year, Tomkins and Eastmond did a great job, and I'm sure there are a few others out there that would do well given half a chance.

I'm not Brown's biggest fan, but I wouldn't be as upset now if he got in as I would have been 12m ago.

Has Widdop ever played in the halfs first grade or 2nd?

I probably would myself, was just stating that if it did come to Brown being there, I would be hopeful that he could do a good job.

Phew!! I do think it would have been a huge blow to the National squad to lose Eastmond. Hope he is fit enough to play in the Gillette 4 Nations this year, even if it's as an interchange.

He could be fair fresh actually if they are talking six weeks thats end of August. Saints should have him back just before the play offs and then he would barring another injury which he seems to get quite a lot of.

That's what I was worried about; another injury, if he doesn't rest up enough.
