Last time you replied to me you were so darn rude that I put you on ignore, and several people pulled you for it.

Don't be a hippocrite eh wink.gif

With all due respect I put the pictures as you are/were one of the usual suspects. In addition it was only you that pulled me up on it. Please look at any post/thread I put on here I and I can say confidently none of the above refers to me and 95% of the members. And before this thread gets derailed thats the last reply to you on this matter!

I'd like a place that's invisible to anyone who gets on my nerves - but I think that's called having your own forum - sod that for a barrel load of monkeys tongue.gif

So for now, I will have to bite my tongue, accept that I presumably annoy as many folk as those that annoy me, hope that the good posts outnumber the bad ones (1000:1) - and pray that one day this forum will bring me as many belly laughs as it used to biggrin.gif

It'd be nice if we could have a happy medium. I get grumbled at for letting things go too far, I get grumbled at for stopping abuse. For example, I got whined at last night for deleting a thread that was solely created to bitch, moan and whine that the forum is full of Wigan-supporting losers*, apparently deleting this was "censorship" and restricting the poster's rights to free speech.

Where we draw the line is when people lose all semblance of posting rationally and jump in with both feet on the side of abuse. It's a damnably rare thread that we lock that isn't way beyond the scope of acceptability. What you may not see on locked threads is the number of deleted posts and things that are hidden away.

* Admittedly they are a bit annoying and do snaffle all the pies before anyone else even gets a look in.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't I'm afraid. Its a hard job and that's why I'd never do it. Eating pies obviously breeds better sense. wink.gif

Personal preference I suppose and wasn't meant to be criticism of you personally - I've only made one semi-serious objection to a thread locking and that was on the grounds of consistency (I'm a stickler for that).

I can't however deny that sometimes it is fun to see the nutters making a fool of themselves - I can make a reasonable guess at who started the above thread you refer to and to be honest if I'm right his card was marked as a complete buffoon within one post.

As well as an 'Ignore' option I'd like an 'Invisible' option.
I reckon I could half the time it takes to go through the threads if they weren't cluttered up by messages from those I have on 'Ignore'.

Yeah that's what I would like.

I'd prefer a FOAD button but I suppose I'd settle for an "invisible" one.

Eh? You do realise East Hull folk use this forum don't you?
On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

This board has become a humourless zone, some people can't take a joke and because of that those that like a good humoured but adversarial debate have drifted off leaving a bunch of miserable buggers bitching on threads that turn into my dad is bigger than your dad threads.

People should really think about a posters intentions carefully before they respond, was a comment in jest, was a comment a deliberate attempt at a wind up, was the comment just purely a bit of a knee jerk reaction.

I have met face to face some of the most adversarial characters on here and they tend to be sound knowledgeable and funny people. Mind you I've met some miserable buggers n all. biggrin.gif

It's a shame Roy Boy and my good self couldn't have met you after the Wigan-Hull game a few months back.

We'd have made those miserable buggers look like the life and soul...

thing for me is what's classed as "banter" & "fishing"* for one is "trolling" & being a pr!ck for another.

I'm an infrequent poster and I read much more than I post but I think the mods have it about right.

*hate both those words. they seem to be used by some as an excuse for being offensive. not just on here.
