GREG EASTWOOD has hit top form for Leeds in recent weeks but it seems he still wants out at the end of the season to return to Australia.
The Kiwi international forward and World Cup winner is in the first year of a three-year contract at Headingley
He arrived from Canterbury Bulldogs, who have missed his aggression this season and are ready to take him back.
By all accounts, homesick Eastwood is ready to go, with the Bulldogs willing to swap out-of-contract skipper Andrew Ryan.

This would be a strange swap, a realtively young forward like Eastwood for a veteran like Ryan!!???

rubbish swap.. eastwoodd will no doubt go back to the NRL, but cant see the point of leeds taking ryan.. probably what canterbury would like.. but leeds would be fools when they (should) stand to get some cash if eastwood does re-sign with the dogs.

Eastwood is out again for some time with an injury. Second time this season.
Is this not a case of Leeds cutting their losses? Good player but doesn't play enough!
If Ryan is signed I'll bet he'll be on less salary than Eastwood!

Leeds have got some good young forwards that they should give a go.
Makes me sigh when we see clubs lose an overseas player they automatically get another in.

I expect Leeds fans along any minute with a list of Warrington's overseas players and appropriate comments.
That's how these threads go now.

It applies for all clubs including Wire.
What happens when Monaghan retires and King. Do we promote youth or fill up our quota? Its crazy.

This is a thread that applies to Leeds Rhinos. We don't need another thread becoming about the club the thread creator supports against the club he's highlighting.

I am looking forward to NE coming on and telling us why Ryan is a brilliant player and not too old to join Leeds.

Reading this prompted me to dig out the Hoffman story and consider Wigan's position.
I thought Ryan was a good player, but I'm guessing he's long in the tooth?
Given how Leeds' reserve and junior teams have been struggling this year they may be going through a lean period?

I was saying the exact opposite!
I expected Leeds fans to basically reply "Yeah because Wire have great overseas players
Yeah I mentioned it, but with a cynical eye after seeing this place over the last few months.
