Wigan have snared the Melbourne Storm trio. Who can stop Wigan?

Recommended Posts

Inglis may go to Brisbane. Cam Smith, Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater will stay in Melbourne for sure.

But Wigan have snared Jeff Lima, Ryan Hoffman, and Brett Finch.

I would now appear that Wigan have their 2011 Grand Final appearance chalked in, with a victory almost certain.

Jeff Lima had a shocker today against the Warriors, that's all I've seen of him.

NZ Warriors are now on a rampage. Don't judge Jeff Lima on one away game against the likes of NZ Warriors.

Not been that good all season

I think they've got better than them 3 already, waste of money for me.

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.

He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.

And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Thought he had a shocker today, well didn't most of the Storm players in the Cake Tin rain.

Five on the bounce for the Warriors, up to twenty points and looking good for the play-offs if they keep up this form.

I must say that the Penrith v Parramatta game was ######ing awesome from the early 22-0 lead to the 30 point fightback.

This is why Rugby League is the greatest game.

I couldnt be bothered with the link but if you've "snared" these 3 then you really need to have a good luck at your scouting operation :D

Individuals are neither here nor there, a lot of people forget its a team game. You put together a team not 13 players. :D

And on that point it certainly helps that Wigan have signed three players from the same top flight team.

Jesus Christ. Good luck to Wigan and all that, but I wish this ##### would bore off.

He is the worst poster on this board by a country mile, yet thinks that his opinion actually counts, the tool.

Edit: And I also expect he is from closer to Warrington than France.

Don't need any of them.

I would be delighted if none of those named are at Wigan next year.

Thank you Steve, we agree on something at last

Thats a silly statement, Lima is a journeyman who struggled in the French League, got himself fit and had two good years at the Storm in 2007-08. Several average players look great at the Storm due to the structure down there and it helps a bit playing alongside three players who will go down as legends of the game.

I think he will have a similiar impact on SL as former Storm teammate Dallas Johnson is having.

Hoffman on the other hand is a damaging runner wide of the rucks, i hope he overcomes his recent injuries.

Everything under the sun is in tune

But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

Got to agree about Lima, Adam Blair is the main prize in the Storm pack but it looks like he is staying put. Hoffman, through injury, does not seem to be the player he was 18 months ago but would be a good signing for any club especially if he can get fit.

What complete tosh. How many times have we heard this. A good team sign a few players and thats it all before them will be swept aside.

Good job we actually play the games to find out how good teams are.

how are Wigan going to fit more overseas players into the reduced Quota rules?

i think your coach knows a little bit more about RL than you do.

hes a fine young coach youve gotten

What's that got to do with anything?

I don't want to see any of those players at Wigan, and that's an opinion I am entitled too.

I would be more than happy to see a Wigan squad full of English players, with not an Australian, nor a New Zealander in sight.

Is that so hard for you to grasp Walter?

Riddell, Feka, Phelps and Bailey are almost ceratin to not be there next season so there are 3 places left on the overseas quota. I would be happy with signing Lima not to sure about Hofman though as we are well stocked up on back row forwards. Depends on the situ with Hock though and moving Mossop to prop would be an option but then we have Tuson and Farrell coming thru !!!

It's more quality in the backline we need defo another half back and hopefully a bigblockbusting centre to....

since you seem to be slow of understanding, ill repeat, your coach, who knows a lot about RL thinks this is a good thing

im guessing you dont want an australian as coach either?

Far from being slow to understand Wally, I think I am showing tremendous patience dealing with your inane ramblings.

Once more for the cheap seats, "I don't want any foreign players in the Wigan team. I don't want an Australian coach, and would much rather have an Englishman"

Now then, which part of that are you having difficulty with?

I don't care of Maguire knows better than me. He is no more entitled to his opinion than I am. Is that clear, or do you want me to write it in crayon for you?

I'm glad all three are coming to Wigan if the press are right.

Lima is a good front rower and he will join Fielden & Coley, Prescott is there and Hock could well return in 2011.

Hoffman is excellent and also a big man 6'4" and around 17 st. Wigan's 2nd row next year could be Hoffman, J Tomkins, Mossop and Hansen. Three of those are 6'4".

The Wigan pack has lacked this size, aggression and skill for years and it is now being put in place.

As for the overseas quota. As has been said Riddell, Feka, Bailey and Phelps will probably go. There have been rumours about Roberts returning to Aus but no one really knows.

If they sign there won't be any trouble with the quotas or salary cap.

BTW Leuluai & Hansen are now considered "home grown" under the new rules.
