If this happens I think it will be a great move.

ST HELENS want to play next year's home fixture with Warrington at Goodison Park.
They will play most of 2011's home games at Widnes while a new 18,000-seater stadium is built.

Any Rugby League fans in the Everton squad?
"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore
"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

They could get easily over 20,000 for this match. A lot of Wire would go over to Goodison especially if it was a big season opener.

They should get more. If Saints are serious about filling an 18K stadium, and Warrington are playing as well as they are this year, and they market it to Everton fans and the wider Liverpool community, they should be targetting 30-40K
Then again, this is RL. St Helens or Warrington to Liverpool is just too far to go, isn't it.

If the game is priced and marketed right should be 25K plus game.
also, great idea, as Wires only go to the Halton for Semi Finals

"TEMPORARY MOVE ... Saints coach Mick Potter might take charge at Goodison"
Err... no he won't. He'll be coaching Bradford that year!

Didn't Tim Cahill's cousin play for Samoa at th 2008 WC? Not sure who it was though. Just checked and apparently he's the cousin of Ben Roberts AND Apollo Perrelini.

The experiment was not repeated....
Sam Tomkins - Rugby League Week 14.03.12I was sat on the Underground train, and there was a girl looking at me. She was pretty good looking, too, I thought, "something's wrong here - girls as hot as that don't take an interest in me".
Then she came over and said - in a really strong Cockney acent - "excuse me, are you Sam Tomkins?".
She asked me for my autograph, and I was made up...until she asked me to make it out to her boyfriend. I was gutted, I thought she wanted my number
Benji Marshall discovering about Sydney "fan" loyality (Benji - page 245)After we were well beaten by South Sydney at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2010, a coupl;e of kids maybe eight or nine years old took their Wests Tigers jerseys off as I was walking off the field and threw them at me. "What's this" I said "You can have the jersey" one of them said "we don't go for West Tigers anymore". Then they ran back to their parents who were laughing. That was difficult to take, having kids who look up to you do that. I just dropped the jerseys on the ground and kept walking. It's not like we go out and lose by 50 points on purpose

Well the game will not sell out so there will be loads of empty seats but so what? What's worse, generating a 20K+ crowd and having a lot of spare seats or not bothering and having the usual 10K or whatever? saracens took some games to Wembley last season....did I once hear people slating them for not selling it out? No, only people praising the attendance. So why do we in RL automatically focus on the negative and panic about what someone may or may not think about us?

it is a peculiar thing only seen in british rugby fans, they watch the stadium not the players, always seems odd to me. loads of stadiums in the nrl are hardly ever full, no one says a word, yet here a 30,000 crowd in a 45,000 stadium can make us look bad?

give over, league unlimited has endless dicussions about crowd numbers especially in relation to the afl.
Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I think he meant people in the UK, not the Aussie fans.
