Some people have short memories
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

The club has the problem of trying to keep it's links with south wales whilst playing in north wales.
It seems to be a PR excersise saying to fans - we still think about you, and saying to juniors - we are still your club for a pro-contract if you make it.
The crowd will provide ammunition for those against expansion as usual.
The key question is can a North wales SL outfit inspire a south wales junior RL without such fixtures being played away from Wrexham.....

Reports suggest - Fans singing YMCA, fighting with stewards, allegations of racist chanting, etc
Hopefully it was minor things blown up out of proportion...

Yes, lets just have our own little northern sport, we can all go back to wearing flat caps and having whippets and eating hovis butties.

If this game were played in Wrexham you'd have a point, but it wasn't. The game was the equivalent to MK Dons playing an on the road game in London, the Crusaders are hated in South Wales.
Parksider has raised an interesting dilemma though as while economic sense would dictate scrapping on the road games, they do need to advertise themselves in South Wales to potential players that they're still a Welsh club.
Longer term I could see the possibility of Welsh players playing for the Scorpions and Crusaders being northerners playing in a market that wants to watch RL. The only problem with this is I don't see South Wales ever getting the crowds to support a SL club, though it's not impossible. If Quins moved to say Oxford then that would be much closer than Wrexham for South Wales players (even Twickenham is closer)

I certainly know a few RL fans down there - including a couple about five mins from Neath - and none went to yesterday's game.

Gotta agree with all of that, especially the part I took the liberty to put in bold print.
I am sorry to say that regrettably I forecast that yet again this Welsh experiment would come to nothing. I have witnessed this happen so often that it is sickening to watch it all unfold and inevitably with the same old outcome eventually yet again.
Welsh= RU! RL: not wanted!!
The main reason behind that opinion is that RL is viewed as an ENGLISH version of the game of rugby and for that one aspect alone is regarded as alien.
I would love to be proven wrong but I fear that Wrexham will go the way that the other Welsh forays have and oblivion will once more occur, as sure as eggs is eggs!

Do they not have full stops and commas in the north? Poor attendance, oh well. I had a good time mainly I did this bizaare thing. I watched the rugby.
I was in the main stand with most of the cas fans in the union end. Didn't hear any dodgy chanting although the coppers were called at some point. Seemed pretty minor to me. Respect to the cas fans who made a long journey. Thanks for the two points.
Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!
