Halifax RLFC would like to invite all Super League Clubs’ season ticket holders to watch our game against Widnes Vikings Free of Charge on Thursday 29th July 2010, kick off 7:30pm.

All we ask in return is that they show their season ticket at the gate and make a donation to the Overgate Hospice charity. Entry is to the South Stand only where a designated turnstile will be in operation.

Why not come down to The Shay to see two of the three clubs with Super League license points in our Championship Crunch Clash.

Michael Steele, Director of Halifax RLFC said “The Club recognises its place in the local community and values the work which the hospice performs for the people of Calderdale.

As well as welcoming Super League season ticket holders to see their potential future opponents, this is an ideal opportunity for them to see the best of championship rugby in what are now Super League surroundings.”

Lauren Ingram of Overgate Hospice said “We are delighted and really appreciate this gesture by Halifax RLFC. We rely very heavily on our local community to raise the Ł5,000 needed each day so that we can continue to provide our care free of charge.

Since 1981 Overgate Hospice has provided specialist care for people in Calderdale who have a life limiting illness. We know that we cannot add days to life, but with the support of the community, our care will add life to the days of our patients, helping people to make the most of the time they have left.”

Should be a big crowd at the Shay on Thursday evening as Halifax look to move past Leigh and into second spot in the Championship.

I think if everyone who uses the free offer donates a minimum of Ł5 at the turnstyle, then the Overgate Hospice will really benefit from a great incentive by Halifax.

If anyone want's to meet up, we'll be in the Pump Rooms from around 17:30 before moving onto the Shay hotel.

As for the score I'll go with a Halifax win by 12 to 14 points.

Should be a good game tonight - always tight affairs between Fax and Widnes. Be good to see supporters of SL teams at The Shay again.

The weather is scorching here in Bradford at the minute, we might have to find a beer garden sooner rather than later.

Halifax will line up as follows:

Black, Ostick, Wrench, Barlow, Larder, Goddard, Royston, Nash, Worrincy, Branighan, Beswick, Cherryholme and Patterson.

The referee is Mr Drizza from France and the kick-off is imminent with around 3,200 in the crowd.

Halifax RLFC 0-6 Widnes Vikings after 16:00 minutes.

Kavanagh with the opener after a ferocious start to the game with both sides going close on a number of occasions.

Halifax RLFC 0-12 Widnes Vikings after 24:00 minutes.

Flynn with the second Vikings score in the corner which was reminiscent to the Peter Fox try at Craven park Saturday gone, with the looping cut-out pass missing three players before finding the wingman with acres of space to touch down.

Halifax RLFC 6-12 Widnes Vikings after 31:00 minutes.

Penky with a Jimmy Lowes special from the quick penalty tap 5m out and it all comes from so serious poor Widnes discipline as the penalty count racks up heavily against the Vikings.

Halifax RLFC 12-12 Widnes Vikings after 35:00 minutes.

Shad Royston with the second Halifax try after a Branighan 40/20 (remember he got two last week in the game vs Barrow) and more so a wonder inside pass from Ben Black which sees Royston with too much space and toe to breach the Widnes line.

Lee Patterson 2/2.

Go on then Matt...as a mate of Mick's, where do you think he is?

Some pub in Bradford, screening the game, that he knew you wouldn't be in perhaps?

You never know, he may just be at the game....

On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

he does have previous for that stunt biggrin.gif

reason I asked is that 'stiff' I mentioned in 1st post is a fax fan from our pub who IS at the game and he wants to meet up with mick. Yet mick is strangely ignoring the posts on here and also txts to his phone ( which he must have with him to be posting on here). Certainly seems like mick isnt at game to me. ohmy.gif

Fax looking good and some of the play is quality in attack. Just wish they could learn to concentrate and defend for 80 minutes.

Gets my vote

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.
