Has anyone signed up for this? They are saying 16 games a month which is good value.

The downside is the NRL season will soon be over and there is a one off set up charge of

Ron Banks

Midlands Hurricanes and Barrow

I've been watching the matches on Premier all season, so I've signed up. The annoying thing is though, the most important match of the season, the Grand Final, won't even be on there. Sky are showing it.

Anyway it'll only be on for 2 months. Come October when the NRL and GAA have finished, they'll have nowt left to show anyway!

I'd get it if it was on Virgin

It's a rolling 1 month contract, as they realise that NRL/GAA fans would likely only want the channel for their respective sports so have made it easy for people to cancel during the off season

It will still be on Sky - IIRC it's part of the same deal that NRL signed with MSK - that Sky get State Of Origin, Round by Round Highlights and the Grand Final for the length of the contract that MSK has everything else

Richard from MSK said on Facebook that with more money from the subscriptions, that they will try and get the GR and Origin next year.

It would be great news if they could because the Sky coverage is utter trash.

Unless the channel finds something to show over the winter months, they might not even be around this time next year. I would imagine that the deal with Sky might last for more than the 1 season anyway.

Also, apart from the pre-match and half-time, which I never bother watching anyway, Sky's coverage of the GF and SOO comes from Channel 9. Exactly the same as any other broadcaster that wanted to show it in this country.

I was meaning the pre-game coverage.

Thinking about it - there is no reason they can't show it as secondary broadcasters, but Sky will still show it as well - plus they have the added bonus of HD

Which I experienced for the first time on Saturday evening.

I'll be getting a new HD tv in time for the four nations for sure now that Sky have gone to HD on all four sports channels and even HD on Sky Sports News.
