....more than Fax or Barrow or even Batley do.

Fax, Barrow and Batley have better players and are more successful.

Barrow are in Cumbria, providing a healthy dose of expansion.

Fax have a very large following and are based in a pretty large town.

Widnes were uncompetitive in their last stint in the top-flight.


Widnes have a new stadium, granted, but that in itself is in the run down borough of Widnes.


Why would the RFL plump for Widnes over Fax, Barrow or indeed Batley?
