Just announced on Radio 5.
"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

Dunno which is more profound, Agent Riley getting RL onto the airwaves or the players moving to Salford.

(He also mentionned Greg Inglis is out of this years 4N)

I knew that Palaesina was coming but not Bailey.

Seems that Wilky is reaching into his "let's start winning before we get kicked out of Super League" wallet.

Too little too late?

Not really - Think hes spent wisely and needs momentum for Barton. Looking quite solid at the moment with youth & experience aplenty. Problem for me is the coach and his boring tactics which have to change.

This is McRae's last year on his contract. At the end I'm sure JW will say "thank you and goodbye"!
He will then bring a high profile coach in who will in turn sign a couple of high profile players.
So when Salford move into Barton they will have all the publicity they need from all form of the media.

I don't think Salford will set SL alight with these signings but they clearly are going to be a more competitive next year and have greater depth. importantly many of these players have come from winning cultures at previous clubs wich will help them too. A decent bet for the play offs i'd say if they can keep the majority of them healthy.

"surely they've got to try somthing different now, maybe the little chip over the top?2

I've no real idea about his qualities as a coach but I can't think of many with a 'higher profile'.
