FRONTLINE FAIR PLAY LEAGUE:

In the Co-operative Championship, Sheffield Eagles have finished at the top of the Frontline Fair Play Index and can now be rightfully called the best disciplined team in the Co-operative Championship.

The Eagles managed to remain in the Number 1 spot after conceding only five fair play points in their 29-28 victory against Leigh Centurions which was their last game of the regular season.

The South Yorkshire club finished a comfortable nine points clear of nearest rivals Keighley Cougars.

Sheffield will collect their 5,000 prize and specially engraved trophy at the Championship awards dinner in Manchester on Tuesday September 21.

FACT: Of the 29 games played this season, not just league matches (all competitions) Eagles have only been on the wrong side of the penalty count 6 times....

These were:Team-Ref-Comp
WIGAN WARRIORS - I Smith - CC RND 4
TOULOUSE OLYMPIQUE R Hicks -LEAGUE
FEATHERSTONE ROVERS R Hicks- LEAGUE
WIDNES VIKINGS R Laughton -LEAGUE
LEIGH CENTURIONS R Hicks- PLAY OFF
BARROW RAIDERS G Hewer- PLAY OFF

Note: Mr R Hicks refereed Eagles 7 times this season, only once at home, so out of the 6 away games his penalty count is Eagles awarded 42 Conceeded 49.

EVERYONES FAVOURITE REF: Mr J Leahy refereed Eagles 4 times and awarded Eagles 45 penalties and awarded the opposition 34, never favouring the opposition!

Finally (up to today) Penalty counts for previous seasons are as follows:[All comps]

Season: - Awarded - Conceded
1999/2000
2000/2001 - 188 - 229
2001/2002 -234- 257
