The parochialism in this thread goes to prove why there is no hope of rugby league expanding throughout the country. rolleyes.gif

Don't talk rot. There's no parochial views on here. Honestly, you Lancastrians are all the bloody same.
On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

Theres a glimmer of hope for you then

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Then Yorkshire hasn't existed since 1974 (or in fact 1888 when it was split into the ridings for all administrative purposes) by that logic

If Yorkshire exists then Barrow is Lancashire

If i recall 1888 was the date that the good people of Todmorden voted to become part of Yorkshire, I think untill that time the boundry had been through the middle of the town, ( just a bit of useless info ) though it does show that the people of Todmorden are of reasonably sound mind.

That's quite right, our North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, parts of Lancashire, parts of Cleveland friends can't have their cake and their ha'penny!

There was a story a couple of years ago that the people living in Saddleworth (formerly part of the West Riding) wanted out of Oldham and back into Yorkshire. IIRC Delph Cricket club still play in the Huddersfield League.

The people of Saddleworth already are in Yorkshire. If you disagree I suggest you go there and tell them otherwise.

I warn you though, wear a flak jacket and carry a big bloody stick when you say it.
