Saints dummy spitters Graham and Wilkin

Those of us who referee at amateur level have to cope with players who see the pro's get away with backchat. we then get pilloried for enforcing the rules. Refs at pro level are letting us down.

Jimmy Lowes made a career of backchatting the ref and I don't recall him being censured for it very often.

It seems some players have the gift of the gab and can get away with it.

Bradford vs Wigan at Odsal 1998. Cummings sent him off, because Lowes called him a rather nasty word.

Your point is right but also unfair as you haven't included one of the worst people at it - Lee Briers. After Fielden and Pryce left us we haven't had anyone like that. Maybe that's what we lack!!

It was mentioned on here by a poster that Briers was very abusive towards officials in a match against Wigan this year, so I reckon Wendall was holidaying in Siberia because there was nothing said.

Silverwood is too soft, he try's to be too pally with the players. After the incident with Graham he can be heard asking him if he's ok? Who cares if he's ok, he should have been in the bin. And yes I agree Leeds are right up there and also need sorting out.

I once got penalised for holding down when I wasn't even in the tackle, when I asked the ref what he was on about I got 10mins for backchat. P*ssed off at the time but I never questioned the ref again. (Besides he should have known it wasn't me as I avoided tackling at all costs :D )

Just reading in one of Sadler's pieces today that Graham threw his runners-up medal away on Saturday. It was noticeable that he was the first down the tunnel as well. Bad loser.

I didn't see what the two players in question did but unfortunately players (other than the captain) questioning referees' and touch judges' decisions has been creeping into the game for a number of years. It's time that something was done about it.

Think James Graham and Jon Wilkin's antics were the black mark on the Grand Final, behaving like Soccer players in backchatting to ref and disputing decisions endlessly.

Surprised nobody has also mentioned Sam Tomkin's playacting/gamesmanship/call it what you will after Meli (admittedly) caught him high .. no need for it.

That really is a frustrating aspect of Sam Tomkins game and I wish he would cut it out. Thogh to be fair with that incident he did get straight up.
