Should beat PNG. But how come they have 30 man squad yet we only take 24?

David Mead
Richard Kambo
Menzie Yere
Anton Kui
John Wilshire
Dion Aiye
Keith Peters
Rodney Pora
Jay Aston
James Nightingale
Jason Chan
Sigfred Gende
Glen Nami
Charlie Wabo
Tyson Martin
Tuu Maori
Jessie Joe Parker
That was the PNG lineup in las years pacific final, there are 9 players missing from that list. The only ones out with injury are Mead & Chan, while Wilshire has retired. It seems the rest are victims of the new regime. Stan will have his work cut out in this competition thats for sure.

I think it's because they're playing a warm up game in Brisbane (no idea who they're playing). They may well be reducing the squad after that.
I believe some of the missing players are not there because of the politics which led to Adrian Lam's resignation. Neville Costigan would've been a handy addition to the squad as well, but for the Aussies Origin rules.

Did they have to have qualifiers for this four nations or does that start next time around?

They won the Pacific Cup, which (I think) was what qualified them.
