If he goes I hope we get a good fee for him. One of the most promising players I've seen in a Fev shirt since Newlove.

Definitely a great prospect, shame for Fev but good for the lad.

Thought in the past that this lad would have been a good pick up for the Bulls in helping to revitalise the backs for seasons ahead - he must be what 6'3 or 6'4 with bags of pace and finishes for fun from the games i've watched (albeit on Sky).

Shame we seem to have spent elsewhere in this area and predominantly overseas (although i will leave my trust in MP to get that right). Just disappointed that a good young lad like this with clear potential wasn't picked up by my club (assuming he ends up at Wires).

Heard quite a few clubs made him an offer,he's decided to go with Warrington and given their recent success, who can blame him?

Put yourself in his shoes. A chance to play for a worldwide brand glamour club? Or stay in NL1 with a flatt cap outfit and never fulfill his potential.

Good luck and see you next year Zac!

You think someone associated with a 'worldwide brand glamour club' whatever that is, would have the where with all to accurately spell the word 'flat'.

Good luck to Zac also, fine young player with genuine potential to represent England as he develops

If he had that opportunity then it's a surprise that he chose Wire.

His name's Zak. Not Zac

He looks a real star in the making. I hope the rumour that he is to be loaned back to Fev for 2011 is true.

Im happy for him he's chosen a club where he'll get good coaching and be looked after, as he's a fine prospect.

Reflects great credit on the Fev set up to still be able to produce players of such high quality.

Also sends out the right message to promising youngsters to ignore the big clubs, get down to Post Office Road where you will get every chance to make the grade, and SL will always be waiting anyway if you're good enough.

All the best Zak.

With next licensing decision not until 2015, there is absolutely no way a lower level team will ever be able to build up a home grown team and a decent coach.

A period longer than two years is just too long for any potential youngsters to hang around at their beloved home town teams

Another reason why this form of licensing is a load of old guff, in place only that the top 14 can plunder, rape and pillage the lower league clubs into being little more than glorfied amatuer outfits being watched by a few hundred hardy souls

rolleyes.gif That's a big chip you've got there.Surely players want to go as far as they can with their careers,as for raping and pillaging, give over.

Funny how Widnes' youth are currently so successful and many (inc. youth internationals) have signed terms at the club rather than go to a SL club, and no 'raping or pillaging' so far (AFAIK!)

It's getting a bit tiresome now....you don't like licensing, we get it! BUT it isn't to blame for all Leigh's (or any other CC side) woes, Leigh won't have a decent homegrown side any time soon because they don't have a decent youth set up NOT because of licensing, they won't be getting promoted because they aren't good enough NOT because of licensing (they're fortunate enough to be in CC never mind SL) and if they have ambitions for SL they know exactly what is required.

I know I won't change your opinion of licensing and this wasn't my intention, but just using it as an excuse for everything you don't like about your club / RL / life in general does you no favours.

But presumably Widnes are able to promise their youngsters that shortly they'll be playing SL. Fev, Leigh, 'Fax and Barrow aren't.

It's about time Wire started to fill all that available space they have on the salary cap. (Reaches for tin hat.)
On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

Wow. A thread about a transfer of a young player and Lobby turns it into a rant about no P&R for Championship (i.e. Leigh) clubs and the pathetically small attendances that will result.

Who would have thought it?

Laugh out loud moment........ but Lobby is happy for Leigh to take 3 Yes 3 Warrington U20's into the team. laugh.gif

what about the leigh youngsters not getting their chance because Leigh take Wire players on dual contracts.

Lobby really is stupid sometimes with his rants.

3 Wire players means 3 places taken for "Home Grown young leigh lads"...

what do ya think about that GOBBY tongue.gif
