Sunday 17 October 7.30pm
IN LEAGUE WITH LITERATURE
Venue: Morley RFC. Price: £6
Featuring: Ray French, Phil Caplan, Tony Collins and Tony Hannan
Book seats via the Leeds Grand box office on 0844 848 2706

Some say Rugby League and literature don’t go together. Leeds-based publishers of all things northern culture, Scratching Shed, host an evening featuring four writers and broadcasters who disagree. Come and join Phil Caplan (No White Flag), Professor Tony Collins (1895 and All That, Rugby's Great Split), Tony Hannan (Being Eddie Waring, Seasons In The Sun) and BBC Rugby League commentator Ray French (Ray French... And Rugby) for an evening of good-humoured insight, chat and sporting words.

Three of the above quartet are regular contributors to Rugby League World (Phil & The Two Tones), so if you like the mag, you'll be sure to enjoy this. Last year's event in Ilkley drew a capacity crowd and was jolly good fun, so grab yourself a ticket and come along.

I'll be lurking in the audience somewhere (they made me buy a ticket) but don't let that put you off! biggrin.gif

I wonder how this will go?.....The RL club based at the venue know nothing about it...

There's 10 types of people in the world...those who understand binary and those that don't

I'm hoping to go. It's part of the Morley Literary Festival - going to John Shuttleworth tonight too. smile.gif

A very interesting evening. Good crowd there too. Didn't notice you though John. Anyway it was better than John Shuttleworth (I write as a fan) who was very disappointing.

I was there, lurking in the audience, keeping a low profile. ph34r.gif

It was another very entertaining evening.
