Some say Rugby League and literature don’t go together. Leeds-based publishers of all things northern culture, Scratching Shed, host an evening featuring four writers and broadcasters who disagree. Come and join Phil Caplan (No White Flag), Professor Tony Collins (1895 and All That, Rugby's Great Split), Tony Hannan (Being Eddie Waring, Seasons In The Sun) and BBC Rugby League commentator Ray French (Ray French... And Rugby) for an evening of good-humoured insight, chat and sporting words.
Three of the above quartet are regular contributors to Rugby League World (Phil & The Two Tones), so if you like the mag, you'll be sure to enjoy this. Last year's event in Ilkley drew a capacity crowd and was jolly good fun, so grab yourself a ticket and come along.
I'll be lurking in the audience somewhere (they made me buy a ticket) but don't let that put you off!
