Directly quoting Shane Richardson, so it seems this story has some foundation.
I know Caisley is Sam's manager so I imagine he also looks after the other three. That being the case then I reckon he'll do anything he can to make the deal happen - he isn't backwards in coming forwards when it comes to collecting his percentage.
Apart from the marketing possibilities I really cannot see the attraction for Souths. I don't think Luke is good enough for NRL, and the younger two are unproven.

So he says - "You're not a real fishmonger, you've just done a plop in the wrong lavatory..."

If this was to happen then surely the main reason behind it would be that it will help to keep Sam happy? After the year he's had they'll want him to stay there for as long as possible.

I've been amazed in recent weeks just how brazenly Aussie clubs seem to be able to publicly state that they want to sign contracted players and in the case of Orford (to go off at a slight tangent), pretty much talk to the player and his manager about a move without having come to any sort of agreement with the club.
In the case of the Burgess brothers; it might be wishful thinking on the part of the Souths, it might be idle talk to fill newspaper column inches and it might never happen. Similarly, maybe one or all of the brothers don't see their careers down under. However, the point is, this kind of talk has the possibility to destabalise players relationships with their current clubs and i would have thought that there must be some sort of anti-tampering law that would result in these kinds of actions being punished by the game's governing bodies.

I think Luke Burgess is at least as god as some of the Autralian dross that Steve McNamara brought to the Bulls.
I'd be sorry to lose the twins but neither of them are likely to be first team regulars at Odsal next season. In their position, I'd jump at the opportunity of a few years in Oz with the opportunity to return if I didn't like it.

Which makes you wonder at the motivation of South Sydney; do they think all three are carbon copies of Sam? If so they are going to be woefully disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Luke is a decent but hardly outstanding SL prop (mostly from the bench) who, most probably, isn't actually going to improve their squad, George is probably just about ready to be given his first tentative steps in to the first team, and Tom, as yet, is possibly not quite ready. Sam Burgess they are not, not even when he was their age. Luke, anyway is older and should be somewhere near as good as he is ever going to be.
I wonder if Sam is pushing for them to go over? I mean the Rabbits aren't going to want to upset their big pommie star and might, perhaps, be persuaded, even if there is little sense (from their point of view) in it.

I think Gary Hetherington would be happy to release Luke now for a fee with 12 months left on his contract. Leeds have two players in Luke Ambler and Kyle Amor who are far better long term prospects IMO. Luke has not improved over the last two season and is an average SL player who would struggle the make the 17 at Headingley with a fully fit squad. With up and coming stars Brad Singleton and Jared Stewart in the 18's for the future Leeds are ok for the longer term.
I think souths would be better taking George and leaving the other two at home !

George is the most highly regarded young forward in the English Super League at the minute and is a member of England's development academy.
He's also on a three year deal so if Russell has £500,000 for George and Tom then we may let them go.
Just reading all three's Twitter accounts mate, they seem to be having a fun time down under, enjoying the lifestyle and to be honest who wouldn't want to swop Bradford for Sydney.

George is progressing nicely but, as yet, he hasn't played a game in SL, so I'm not sure how that squares with being "the most highly regarded young forward in the English Super League at the minute", to be honest. There is plenty of potential but as yet not realised. Given that you never know how good someone is going be it would be a massive risk for any club to come in with a big offer. As a guess (and hope

They are from Dewsbury, which is obviously much much worse than Bradford, and possibly therefore, not quite as nice as Sydney.

Is he gonads!
Promising and lot of potential, but I'm sure there are any number of players and fans - including George himself - who would say that was redefining the word hyoperbole in even more extreme terms.
