I really hope it works out for them but the playing staff at Wakey is really looking thin on the ground at the moment.
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.
I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try
Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

Bit harsh, I've seen both play and they are talented lads with plenty of potential. I'm half expecting Wakefield to shock a few people next season. If there's one thing that brings out the best in Kear, its adversity.

Good luck to them. I'm sure that licensing was about giving young British talent a go, and it looks like they are going with that strategy, so I'll be interested to see how it works for them.

I may be wrong but I don't think they've chosen that strategy

Personally I would have gone with;
"The Wigan Youth Machine does more great work for teams East of the Pennines!"
Glad to see them staying in the game and hopefully they'll get a good run in the first team.

lol what makes me laugh is kenilworth tiger has a go at everything wakefield do. when hes never even been to cas game before, hes always on here game day.
but i think there good signings and theyll fit right in at wakefield with the likes of matty wilde, kyle trot, kieran hyde etcc. going in the right direction at wakefield as youth seems to be the way forward.

In the age of the smartphone thats not uncommon, "Tommy The C5t" must post 75% or more of his posts from various grounds around the country!

Where have I had a go?
I said the playing staff looks pretty thin on the ground - a view that many of your fans agree with. I also stated that I don't think thet Wakefoield have chosen to go for you English talent with a point to prove - do you disagree?
Do you believe that they have deliberately chosen these signings rather than proven AUssies or bigger names that HAVE proved things. Or do you believe what Mr Kear said in the press that recruting was hard based on the financial issues surrounding the club and the upcoming franchise application. Not my words , the words of your coach.
As for the not going to games bit, you really have no clue do you
It's a shame because I would absolutely love Wakey to get a grund, be competitive and continue to beat the odds and punch abover their weight. unfortunately that would give pleaseure to people like you so my support of the Wakefield club is getting less and less.
So once again, where have I "had a go?"
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

If you want to make a list of the players Wakefield have signed who were not the bottom of the barrel/past it etc then you are probably going to end up with a very short list if not a blank piece of paper. Yet the team has never been the worst in SL so perhaps there is something beyond reputation going on here.
Wakefield probably always have the lowest budget in SL and this year is no exception but I think the recruitment is more to do with the drop off in collective spirit that Kear will have witnessed last year. We will all be hopng to play less hide and seek RL next season with some young guys who are keen to be noticed doing the job properly. Wakefield is a destination for no one career wise but it has proved to be a good spring board for a lot of players.

Oof! That is almost Simon Cowell-esque in it's cutting honesty.

To be fair they must have. There are plenty of lower grade Aussies knocking round who could be signed for a year for them, and so far they haven't gone down that route.

I'd go along with that too. Ryan Atkins couldn't get a chance at Bradford, Ben Westwood, Darrell Griffin and Gareth Ellis all got their chance to play regular first team football with Wakefield and all feature in the present England side. The problem for poor sides like Wakefield in their present form is that they simply cannot hope to keep the talent they nurture if said talent gets too good. Likewise weren't they also the only ones interested in giving the proud Scotsman Danny Brough a go too?

No point in offering Aussies one year contracts. Everyone knows that Wakefield is going to get the axe in 2011.

But if on the off chance they manage to keep in SL, will you have the good grace to leave this board and never return ?

Dear Kenny,You are in 'TROLL' mode yet again due this being a 'Wildcats' related post.
YOU would love nothing more than to see them become extinct in favour of your beloved 'Tiggers'.
Come on son get a grip.
