According to his twitter page anyway....

@jarrydhayne_1
jarryd hayne

Devastated !!!!!! Out 4 the season. 4 nations over !!!!!! Was thought to be a strained hamstring is now a tear.....
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

If that's the case, it isn't all bad news for Australia, as he has had problems fitting into the Kangaroo team's style of play. It could actually be a bonus for them.

No chance. It's a loss.

Hayne's never done much at Test level as a wing for the Roos. Not much of a loss.

Hayne is a talent, but his international career has been played aways from his club position. With a more conventional player in his place, the Kangaroos' performance as a unit might, I think, be improved.

At least he won't have to worry about how little he's getting paid to play test football, or fretting about how many free tickets he can get for his family.

He is Fijian anyway. His spirit of emotional commitment is to Fiji Batis, not to his new homeland of Australia.

He is not Fijian.
He has a Fijian Father and Australian Mother and was born in Western Sydney how does that make him Fijian?

Hayne is a fine player but is not ideal on the Wing.

I guess they will have to call up Lote Tuqiri or Mark Gasnier now this has happened.

You are technically correct Andrew. Jarryd Hayne is of Fijian heritage, but not a Fijian national. However if you read what he said at the time of the 2008 World Cup, he was deeply moved emotionally by the experiences he had in Fiji with the national squad. He said that this experiences, including praying, had changed him as a person and made him more mature and a better person very quickly. I am suggesting that his spiritual heart is with Fiji, even if his career ambition ties him to playing for Australia.

Lote Tuqiiri, on the other hand, like Petero Civoniceva, was born in Fiji. And Lote played for Fiji in the rugby league World Cup 2000. biggrin.gif He has played two codes and for two countries. But he is a great winger, and will make mince meat of the English wingers. The more interesting clash for him will be with the Kiwi wingers.

The Australian players come up against the Kiwi wingers weekly, no big surprises for them there, even though Manu Vatuvei scores plenty he still has areas in his game that can be exploited.

Lote Tuqiri is the obvious choice and will do a great job.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Gasnier back and Boyd on the Wing but either are handy replacements.
