Also looks like Gareth Thomas might be heading back to Union...

And Italy have big plans domestically and internationally after their win over Wales. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the 2011 European Cup tbh.

I was worried regarding the Gareth Thomas article , until I saw it came from the Daily Fail. Utter tosh.

As for Italy in the 2013 World Cup , yeah thats a goer, though to be honest we fielded players ,some of whom had no professional playing experience on the bench ,so in persepctive ,its not such an incredible achievement, but hope they use it.

Erm, I thought Thomas had signed a contract extension till the end of 2011?

I'm sure that had been announced by Crusaders a while back.

If Wales won on Saturday, I'm sure the prospect of playing against Aus, NZ and England at RL would tempt him to stay on.

London Evening Standard

Crucially John Taylor, the London Welsh chief executive, said: “We do not have the budget or the need in our current squad for another wing or full-back. Thomas's agent has been in touch with us but we've made our position very clear". London Scottish have also been contacted by Thomas's representative,

then again...

"We're in this competition to win and finish top of the pile," he said. "The France game is so important to us and it'll be massive for Wales if we win. To qualify for the Four Nations is a massive carrot. The odds are stacked against us and in France's favour... but the chance of playing against England, New Zealand and Australia is mouth-watering as a player and it'd do wonders for rugby league in Wales. Going there will make for a fiery encounter."

He spoke with such passion for the game on the phone in earlier this year, demanding to talk about League whenever a listener would mention Union, that I just don't see him going... Maybe getting into the Four Nations will help him make up his mind.

Would he still be considered good enough to get to 2011 Rugby World Cup?

This could be massive for Wales. Could they attract more players with the carrot of playing in the 4-nations?

This article from the Leader is interesting.

The Crusaders along with Wrexham Council will be putting a bid together for "at least one" 2013 RL World Cup match should Wales qualify. Like the councillor said any match would be a big boost for retailers. But the town is refusing to host a non-Wales game like England v France for instance.

@ The Parksider - You're welcome!

@ Methven Hornet - I'm hoping a Welsh win will be the final nail in the coffin for the Great Britain team.

And hopefully it would stop any Welsh players (like Rhys Williams) playing for England due to wanting to face Aus/NZ.

...

Anyway this is the French team:

1. Cyril Stacul

2. Frédéric Vaccari
3. Jean-Philippe Baile
4. Teddy Sadaoui
5. Quentin Nauroy

6. Tony Gigot
7. Nicolas Munoz

8. Jamal Fakir
9. Kane Bentley
10. Rémi Casty

11. Olivier Elima
12. Mickaël Simon

13. Jason Baitieri

14. Sébastien Martins
15. Mathieu Griffi
16. Andrew Bentley
17. Yohan Tisseyre

No Maxime Greseque as expected which will no doubt be a big blow for the team.

Yeah he'd want to play against the kiwi three quarters after getting smashed all season by english ones.

No no no, there's a legal, good quality stream for this game, as mentioned in the OP.

Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.
