OMG you are F*****g dillusional !!!!
I think the topic is a little tongue in cheek. If its not, then delusional isn't an extreme enough diagnosis.

Its going to be a tough ask for Hunslet to stay up next year let alone anything else.
The Dewsbury side that went unbeaten in 2009 were twice as good as Hunslet were this year, and it took them 10 games to get used to the pace of the division and if it wasnt for whitehaven going belly up under ged stokes, they would have gone straight back down.
The Hunslet v Workington game on sky highlighted the gulf between championship and championship 1, the pace of the game seemed so slow in comparison and the quality was of a standard you see in the conference at best on a saturday afternoon.
Lots of work to do for both Hunslet and York next season, Its always good to be optimistic, but youve got to mix in a bit of reality too..

One game seems to be highlighted all time that was worst we played all season to be fair.If anyone had seen us when we put 60 on Oldham at their ground people might think differently .Everybody knows it is going to be hard Kol is just winding everyone up and everybody is falling for it

the main problem (well for the club in question, not for the likes of us) is that you can't guarantee when these lads will be available, and anyone who is going to make a big different is likely to be unavailable to the championship team most weeks.

The idiot that invented the idea (Barrie Jon Mather) should be relieved of his duties and effectively sacked from the Rugby League.
It is appalling that clubs like Batley , Leigh and the like that accept these Super League led initiatives that quite clearly are ruining the game.
What is wrong with simply registering your squad and sticking with it!!
It is the second season that the Hawks have set out to sign up a squad and have stuck with it and I'm very proud of that !!
I dare say Leigh would not have survived in the Championship without the regular and timely input from their loanees. The Batley situation rears its head historically !!
I find it appalling that Leeds Rhinos sign a player then loan him back - Zack !! Whatever will happen to Michael Coady - will he spend another season out on loan ??
When are Championship and Championship One clubs gonna realise that this rule is to the large benefit of Super League Clubs and to the total detriment of C and C1 and effectively the competition ?????.
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE !!

Too often on this forum when people are drawing conclusions about the gap between the divisions do they relate to the clubs purely as the clubs rather than taking into consideration the individuals within the team. There are a plethora of players proven at a higher level in the Hunslet team.
Therefore to come to a conclusion that we will struggle before playing a single game at this level is somewhat irrational. Especially considering the fact that we beat a Halifax side away from home and also gave Barrow a real good test.
I personally have concerns regarding the quality of the pack in particular the front row, Houston is proven at Championship and a form fit Cakakaka will also cut it but Sullivan Woodcock, Helme, Kelly e.t.c are gonna struggle. Don't think we have issues in any other departments.

sully was just as good as houston last year, so not sure why you think he'll struggle. the rest i'll agree with, but wouldn't count on them getting a game anyway

One area i felt we needed to improve on is forwards but to me seem to be weaker, we appear to have lost our best forward (Lowe) from last year, along with losing Dooler, Knight, Wabo who played 2nd row and replaced with Blakeway who with the reviews from York fans had a poor season & has some proving to do, who will hopefully show his worth. We've brought cackaka in who whenever seen him play for York or Gateshead home & away was pretty poor, he seemed to be the subject of stick from hunslet fans. At 32 this is his last chance and hopefully prove himself.
In the fullbacks this is one area we were pretty well covered in but have brought a 3rd fullback in.
In the centres i feel we needed to improve on to fill the other position with Mchugh, with Harding brought as a player for the future but will hopefully hold down his place.
The wings we have lost Mark but brought in Barnett who will prove to be better.
Half backs are fine but hopefully have cover in Ratcliffe.
Hookers i feel we needed adequate support for Chapman & brought in Mclocklan who again had a poor season by his accounts last year but hopefully could prove to be better than Haigh.
All in all i hope the players prove to be stars and am glad we haven't spent silly money, but I have my reservations whether the team overall is better than last year. I want whats best for Hunslet and hopefully proved wrong.

That was Loweys role though he was able to do that on the back of the work put in by Sully and Houston they had a diffrent role which was to grind down the opposing forwards if them 2 had not got us on front foot as often as we did he might not have being so effective

so lowey was the best forward apart from Chapman, Dave March, Haughey? thats before even comparing him to the other props.
for me the big problem is his fitness, whilst we've seen (with a few different clubs) that he's able to get away with it in championship 1. well structure teams in the championship will easily tire him out, and expose him

Why is this appalling??? It's a loan deal - not dual registration! Loan deals have worked effectively for donkeys years. The parent club has no control over the players selection whilst at the club loaning him. He becomes a full time member of that squad for the period of loan.
Dual reg is another matter.
