His "Rock and Roll" album which features rock classics like Bee Bop a Lula, Stand By Me, Boney Maroni is pretty good though. No original stuff on it though. Produced by Phil Spector too.

It contains material he doesn't put on hs regular releases. I think it is the best album he's done since "Band On The Run".
His best solo recording - "Maybe I'm Amazed".
His worst - too many to mention - starters for ten - Dull of Kintyre / Frog Chorus / Wonderful Christmas-time / Mary Had a Little Lamb

Watching Paul McCartney at his age is unfortunately, for me, like watching Neil Fox trying to play Rugby League in his sixties. Rather sad! Fortunately Neil doesn't try to do it.

Probably not a caricature - he was probably always like that !!
If history has taught us anything, it is that most musicians are tossers outside of the great records thay made.
See :-
John Lennon
Paul McCartney
George Harrison
Mick Jagger
Pete Townshend
Kurt Cobain
Ian Curtis
Mark E. Smith
Bob Marley
Gram Parsons et al
Many are cannonized but scratching below the surface an reveal numerous "character flaws". Just like most of us I suppose.

I can live with that - ok, there maybe are one or two good guys/gals
Wouldn't have fancied going for a drink with Lee Brilleaux though - I'd have been dead in under an hour !!

I think the ongoing rift with Wilko ended up making them both look like tossers tbh. Still he was a fine frontman and great harp player!

Except of course Neil is probably in his seventies by now.
