says "But there is one ginger rodent which we never want to see again - Danny Alexander."

She need to remember that Alexander can always dye his hair, but only surgery can change Mrs Dromey.

She needs to remember that Danny Alexander is of no consequence whatsoever and isn't even worth a cheap shot.

Baiting the Lib Dems was fun over the summer, but the Labour Party needs to start working on the Tories.

The Second World War wasn't won by defeating Romania.

To do that they need to work out their stance on a number of issues.

In the meantime having a go at the Lib dems gives them something to do.
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Indeed. One cannot imagine why her ambition to be party leader didn't attract sufficient support from rank-and-file Labour MPs.

Cannot agree - baiting the Lib Dems highlights the enormity of their hypocrisy and total lack of mandate. Destroying the Lib Dem's in next Mays local elections destroys the coalition. Labour needs to work on both the Lib Dems and the Tories.

problem is that although there are points of that that are true.. the coalition will not be "destroyed" by massive defeats in the local elections... you may see general disatisfaction in the party etc but the coalition would still be there.. you may even see the party split and form two different parties but the coalition could still be there (depending on how many stay on the right side of the lib dem split).. even in a worst case (party split) the coalition is not destoryed, it continues on in a different guise.. people may rejoice in the end of hte lib dems but it will not end this govt...

labour dont need to "work on" either of hte parties.. they need to work on what they stand for, whatever the hell that is, it certainly isnt what it used to be many moons ago or even last year from what i can tell, and get that out to people. it can win by the simple fact that it stands up for the people who pecieve they are being hardest done to in the cuts etc..

sly remarks about danny alexander are just daft and pointless.. at the moment that seems to sum up the party.. and that is wat thye need to work on.. what are they fighting for exactly.

Cannot agree - A May election catastrophe will have Lib Dem MPs doing everything they can to save their own seats, many are only supporting the coalition through gritted teeth now. Nothing focuses an MPs mind quite as much as the possibility that their days as an MP might be numbered. The coalition can only work with the support of Lib Dem MP's. The Tories and a few Lib Dem quislings might carry on as a minority government, on a supply and demand basis, but that's a different issue

Of course, Labour need to work on themselves but oppositions don't win elections Governments lose them and as the only opposition party Labour has a duty to make life as difficult as possible for the Government.

Harman's remarks were crass - but they got the press attention they were designed for.

My current thinking is that a bad result for the Lib Dems will probably leave them clinging even closer to the Tories for dear life. I imagine that the local parties might get angry, but there are a lot of Lib Dem MPs who probably won't want to trigger an election any time soon so the local parties can go hang.

It seems the only Lib Dem policies which are being enacted are the ones which also happen to be Tory ones, so you have to ask ... what are they fighting for exactly.

In any case, this is all petty red v blues stuff. In the real world, the blues just abandoned a healthcare policy that was much admired and widely refered to around the world in favour of one which will massively increase the amount of money spent on pointless medical marketing and litigation against local doctors. Good work all round.

Quite a few Tory policies that the Liberals didn't like were abandoned. That's why.

fair enough you "cannot agree" so no point talking about it really..

"Get press attention" of her being a crass idiot who deserves to be at the bottom of a barrell and not on the front bench of a political party.. if that was her plan she did well at it.. congrats.

If people are happy for 5 years of bitching AGAIN then fine.. personally i was hoping for some grown up politics whereby this endless name calling and crassness ended.. and perhaps rational debate about policies and bills may happen. I'm obviously in the minority.

edit: it edited P*llock to hashes which i thought was harsh as its not a sweary word.. so changed it to idiot.
