I think we did him a favour! ten years at one club is long enough. He seems to have resurrected his career at his hometown club.Thoroughly well deserved by all accounts and a top bloke as well.

Well played Wayne English. One in the eye to Paul Kidd.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

I do not agree unless it was a tongue in cheek remark...........clubs should retain good players, clear example of this is ManU with Giggs and Scholes............I think Wayne should not have left and I cannot help but think hid departure was nothing to do with his footballing ability but for other reasons we will never know and its all done and dusted now anyway.

Having said all that - it is nice to see hime doing well at Rochdale............:)

I was always a Wayne English fan and was sorry to see him leave.

Fact is players come and players go,especially in Rugby league. As for the likes of Giggs and Scholes I am sure Man Utd would have happily pensioned them off if a quality replacement had been or is available, United don't have sentiment look at Van Nystelroy, Keane and others. We have a player of as good a quality in Hawkyard or even Dodd.

I wish Wayne every luck in the world and yes his talent will always shine through.

I told Wayne on his book signing night that if it hadnt been for him Id probably have given up watching Swinton. He is and remains a true talent and a top lad,and the glue that held this team and its fans together through the bleakest decade in our history. We should never have released him,a terrible move.
Oh and well done on his achievements at Rochdale.

I have to admit I was always very jealous of you lot having Wayne, he was class with you for definite.

Last season was just superb for him and us. He went from strength to strength and I had to keep blinking to make sure it was Wayne and not some youngster showing us the pace he still has. I've no doubt that Swinton got the best out of Wayne, but what we're getting is damned good as well.

I'm really glad that Stanky has managed to get him for another year.

Good luck Lions until we meet of course.

Pugwash.
