Four Nations Tipping Competition 2010 Round 3

Welcome

The 2010 Rugby League 4 Nations Tournament enters its third week.

Both games take place this coming Saturday 6th November at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand.

Local time:

3:30pm England VS Papua New Guinea

6:30pm New Zealand VS Australia

We're running a tipping competition for the duration of the tournament and everyone reading this is welcome to enter, whether you've entered before or not.

Round 3 Questions:

1a Name the winner of Saturday's first game, England or Papua New Guinea

1b What will the winning margin be to the team you've picked? 0 to 7 points 8 to 15 points over 16 points

1c What will the total number of points scored be by both teams in this game?

2a Name the winner of Sunday's game Australia or New Zealand

2b What will the winning margin be to the team you've picked? 0 to 7 points 8 to 15 points over 16 points
2c What will the total number of points scored be by both teams in this game?

3 What will the total number of points scored by all four teams be?

The most important element of our competition will be the match tipping one - the two winning teams.

Weekly records will be kept throughout the tournament with a tipping ladder produced. There will also be a weekly animated award made to the top tipster. If this is shared as is likely then the overall points total (Question 3) will act as the tie breaker.

Enjoy your international rugby league this weekend and an equally competitive tipping competition.

Cheers,
Graham

2a Name the winner of Sunday's game Australia or New Zealand

EEEEMMMMM tricky could depend on is a neutral ref allowed by the Aussies and will he bring along his own video ref or should we give the BENEFIT OF DOUBT to the Roo's and go with who ever they choose to have just to keep them sweet. wink.gif
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if its late.

Ouch Barney - methinks you are still sore from the weekend.

You could try the subtlety of a Man U approach.

Neutral referees are vital for international games. I thought this had been understood by all top sports?

It just makes for common sense.

QUOTE
A crowd of over 44,000 packed into the traditional home of rugby in Auckland and booed throughout the singing of Advance Australian Fair before the game, with every single member of the 24-man Kiwi squad lining up for the haka.

Frustrated supporters then launched bottles onto the field midway through the second half .

Rugby League 4 Nations Round 3

Results:

England 36 - 10 Papua New Guinea - England avoided the wooden spoon finishing 3rd. It was PNG who collected the unwanted kitchen utensil

New Zealand 20 - 34 Australia

Here's our match tipping results

DJDJDJ 2
G Las D 2
1976PMJwires 2
Barney 1
Bourbon Rat 0
Rugby Female 1
Kiwityke 1

1b Winning margin in the ENG/PNG game:

26 points which is the 16+ category

The tipsters who got the correct margin and team ENG v PNG:

1976PMJWires
DJDJDJ
Barney
G Las D
Kiwityke

1c Points total in ENG v PNG game: 46

One of us got the total spot one:
Barney

2b Winning margin in the New Zealand v Australia:

14 points which is the 8 to 15 point category

Only one of us got the correct team and the correct margin (NZ V Aus):
DJDJDJ

2c Points total in New Zealand v Australia game: 54

Again just one of us predicted the exact number:
1976PMJWires

3 Grand Total of Points: 100

None of us forecast this exact number ... ... ... The nearest was 1976PMJWires (+8)

The main element to this comp though is the match tipping totals which go forward with us into the next round of games.

All seven of us top scored. The tie breaker (3. Total points competition) means that this week's champion tipster is therefore 1976PMJWires (+8)

Congratulations to our winners this week.
Good luck in next weekend's final competition.
I'll produce an animated award for this week and update the thread of our 4 Nations 2010 Comp results at the top of the forum's front page.

Cheers,
Graham
