Agreed a good signing! another three or four still to come to complete the squad according to the website.I have a feeling that one of those three/four could be a small blonde haired lad who played for us last season as I saw his van parked outside the club offices one evening last week. There again could have been a coincidence and he could have been doing some plastering for John Kidd.

Hulsey is a top lad, and always gives 100 percent, but, do we need/want him?

Fantastic signing and the one I was hoping for. Class and pace.
Id have Hulsey too anytime. 100% player and versatile.

After the recent signing of Mark Smith this is also a great signing. We now need more forwards. I hope the plasterer only called to give an estimate and nothing more.

Ainscough should be a great signing and he has ripped us apart up the middle on a few occasions!
I do hope Blackpool survive their latest setback but, on a mercenary point, are there any more players we could pick up from their squad as we are still a little short in the forward department for my liking (baring in mind I would truely love us to sign Lee Doran as he is one tough cookie).

Fitzpatrick-Smith-Heaton
Gallagher-Doran
Joseph

Woah, what a pack that would be.
I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always nice to have a bit of speed in the middle, particularly as Watson, Gallagher and Smith can see to the play-making side of things.

Centre looks a bit light at the moment, particularly with Sneyd unlikely to be fit for the first chunk of the season. Defence on the fringes has been a problem for ages, with lots of tries conceded down the left inparticular. Having said that, one feature of the move to the Willows will be a narrower home pitch, which should mean that defence out wide is not as difficult to achieve as it was at Park Lane.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

I don't think we will see Danny Heaton.
At the meeting the other week I was talking to one of our coaches and he told me that Danny has got hooked on MMA (it's not a drug..It is mixed martial arts) and has indicated he won't be signing. I hope he reverses that decision as I like Danny Heatons aggressivness.

Phil we have the following threequarters;
first choice for me would be
2 Foxen 3 Dodd 4 Reay 5 hurst
or
2 Hamilton 3 D Hawkyard 4 Sneyd 5 Ryder
plus
Birkenshaw,Flooks, spare.

So ten isnt bad. For once we are light on props!

And for me the best signing on the prop front would be Anthony Mullally.

WE are supposed to be signing a Prop in the next 24 hours. I agree Mullaly would be a good sigbing.

I don't know what a 'SIGBING' is parky but if Big Ant is one then bring it on! ;-)

I'm afraid Burkenshaw has left the club due to work commitments Mark although we will be signing a replacement apparently.

Come on Mark, keep up!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Perhaps quantity, but not convinced about the quality, particularly on the defensive side of things. Sneyd is still getting over a serious injury, Reay was used on the wing at Leigh due to a perception of being vulnerable in defence one-on-one, Dodd (wing) and D Hawkyard (back row) are probably better in other positions.

In my opinion there is no natural centre that is strong defensively and unless resolved it will be a problem next season as opposition coaches have already learned to target this weakness.

And when did you last see any of them play? Dodd is as good a centre as winger and Hawkyard would be a good player in any position. You seem unable to admit when you are wrong Phil and on this occasion you are, mainly because I doubt that you have seen any of them play. You want to pour scorn on everything good about the club its players and anything with the slightest bit of positivity. Reay is not weak defensively at all,and Sneyd is a great tackler and should be fit around March. Two class players.

And l o l? Could you not find any "buzz"words from the world of corporate ###### to put in a 27 paragraph response? Shame on you, you are slacking.

Been a while in terms of seeing "live" action, can't deny that and miss it bitterly, but thankfully there are other ways (although not as good). I'm guilty as charged of having a difference of opinion with you. On this one I'm in danger of even agreeing with the club's decision that recruitment of a specialist centre was needed!! Terrible isn't it. I'll do my lines asap.

So in my way of looking at things the signing of Dean Thompson is a good thing and much needed, fingers crossed it goes well. Always nice to see some younger players in the squad, particularly for a position like centre. Of course he might not get in ahead of the players you have already mentioned, that's the beauty of opinions. We will have to see what Mr McCormack's opinion is!
