It was obvious from the moment the story broke that Monaghan would attempt to move to Super League if Canberra or the NRL fired him. That is the relevance to the main forum. The interesting comparison arises because he has not broken the law in Australia. Having sex with animals is legal in the ACT. If he did it in England he would certainly be prosecuted.

It's not legal. He could have been prosecuted by the RSPCA if they had a reasonable chance of a conviction. If everyone who shagged an animal in England was prosecuted half the population of Yarksher would be in jail. The interesting comparison is that pommy fans will joke about this, meanwhile their clubs are falling over themselves to sign him, just like they did with Bird, Carney and others who have been forced out of the NRL for various indiscretions.
