The government has recently agreed a six-year licence fee deal with the BBC.
But according to this article the well known BBC reporter John Simpson thinks that the settlement is akin to torture by waterboarding for the Beeb.
An interesting line on exaggeration.
As someone who runs a much smaller media company than the BBC, I wouldn't mind if my income from a source such as the licence fee were guaranteed for the next six years.

It's noticeable that the BBC have ceased providing any sort of scrutiny or criticism of the current government.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:
Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.
It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.
Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Totally, apart from newsnight, question time, politics show, daily politics, Radio 5, Nick Robinsons blog, Nick Robinson on the news, Micheal Crick.....
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Or indeed, if you tried to listen to the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning, of anyone else.
