So, the great expansion club in Wales will, most probably, have gone bust twice in its' 2 years in SL. Their rise up the leagues was done on the back of 6 illegal immigrants, false promises, dodgy attendance figures and the RFL's blind faith.
2009 - Celtic Crusaders
2010 - Crusaders
2011 - Welsh Crusaders
How can a club after 1 year in SL go bust ? Then, after being bailed-out by the RFL, how are they allowed to do it again - just 1 year later ?!?!?
Some people questioned Barrow applying for a SL license in 2012. Well who knows how long the Celtic Welsh Crusaders will limp along before finally being put out of its' misery. Wakefield aren't in a very good financial state either. So you never know, there could be an extra SL license up for grabs - between next March 2011 (when 1 is guaranteed) and the next round of applications in 2015. If we don't apply we may regret it. We can all debate whether the club is ready, but I'm 100% sure that we'd do a damned sight better than the Welsh outfit both on and off the field.
