SOUTH Sydney co-owner Russell Crowe is on the verge of convincing Greg Inglis to turn his back on Brisbane and sign with the Rabbitohs.

Broncos CEO:

QUOTE
"We are aware he's in Sydney and we believe through third parties that when he was in Sydney he was considering his future and considering his position with moving to the Rabbitohs. We're frustrated to the point where we're seriously considering our options and we will probably have to move on. We can't just keep telling our fans and our sponsors and our players that he might be playing with us if that's not his intention."

This is sensational news!

What next?

GI can't have been making the right noises as far as Broncos are concerned.

What is going on?

How can Bunnies afford him under their salary cap. I didn't think it was possible.

I must have missed something here.
What is absolutely atonishing to me is that after the talk of him going to Broncos and joining his team-mates and so much being taken for granted by the RL community it seems that he hadn't even signed for Broncos.

I assumed he was all settled to go, but it wasn't signed, it wasn't sealed and now it hasn't been delivered.

I don't know who looks the daftest - Broncos for having been strung along, Inglis for looking like either an indecisive mug or a devious sod or a victim of Storm's situation.

Whatever, nobody seems to come out of this smelling of roses.

Get your boots out of the loft, Barney, Broncos might need you.

I'd read that Storm had released GI on compassionate grounds as his partner had been moved to Brisbane by he employers.

So that was just a smokescreen, right?

Maybe he's like these politicians who want to spend some more time with their families when they need or want to get out of a situation.

I'm sorry if Greg and Sally have to be so far apart. Will Greg be able to cope?

This will go one of two ways

1...It will be a master stroke signing resulting in the Rabbitohs playing in the big one, on the first weekend in October. With Inglis being hailed as the greatest Rabbitoh since the Little Master Clive Churchill

2. Inglis's form will go downhill faster than Casey Stoners best lap time at Phillip Island because Inglis can not play his best footy, without a team of champions around him. That will see Inglis having a very short stay at South Sydney.

Not sure about the first option being a dead-set guarantee, but I'd bet against the latter option. Inglis is a massive athletic bloke, and Souths just need to find a way of getting the ball to him in some space and he'll make things happen.

I think you'll find G.I. is a 'Big Game' player who unfortunately is -
Injury prone - Doesn't like doing the hard yards at training - Sometimes goes AWOL for games.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when he has to not only perform every week but also do it under the floodlight glare of the Sydney media wink.gif

Inglis still not absolutely hammered on for Bunnies.
NRL looking at details of the proposed contract. Storm STILL say he's not going anywhere unless the legal bill is paid.

Souths say it'll go through OK
