They’re taking part in the Movember campaign, where men are encouraged to grow a moustache for the month of November to raise awareness of mens health issues and to raise funds for mens health charities.
They’ve struck up a deal with top barbers Gentry Grooming Co who have at outlet in Kendals and to celebrate the start of the partnership, Mancunians’ head coach Tom Haworth was shaved in the middle of the world famous department store much to the bemusement of passing shoppers.
Tom Haworth said: ““Movember is a light hearted way of raising issues and encouraging men to discuss their health. Mancunians RL were affected this year when one of our players suffered with testicular cancer so it’s a subject that is close to us and we’re looking forward to having a laugh and to raising funds for some worthy organisations.”
The stunt is the first of several stunts that the club has planned this month with Gentry Grooming which will raise the profile of the club as they continue to rise through the rugby league ranks since their formation last year.
