Jimi Hendrix - too many to mention but, in particular, Purple Haze and Voodoo Chile.

It's not mate, the F! tune is by Fleetwood Mac.

Nearly four pages and nothing from The Human Riff. This clearly can't be right, so:

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
Brown Sugar.
The Last Time.
Jumpin' Jack Flash.
Street Fightin' Man.
Start Me Up.

Feel free to add.

And when they found our shadows
Grouped around the TV sets
They ran down every lead
They repeated every test
They checked out all the data on their lists
And then the alien anthropologists
Admitted they were still perplexed
But on eliminating every other reason
For our sad demise
They logged the only explanation left
This species has amused itself to death
No tears to cry no feelings left
This species has amused itself to death

I think the tune you're thinking of is called The Chain.

I think the tune you're thinking of is called The Chain.

That's the one; from the 'Rumours' album. The song stops suddenly, then after a pause, that bass line comes in for the first time and the other instruments and voices are gradually added. Until that break, the song sounds nothing like the F1 theme bit.

Lindsey Buckingham deserves a mention on this thread. He is a fantastic and often underrated player. I have a live DVD of him and it's really good stuff. A very creative and different kind of guitar hero.

His discipline and precise timing allows him to use delay pedals to build amazing clouds of notes. Check out 'Time precious Time' from his recent solo album to see what I mean. The effect is overwhelming.
"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes
