Queens 1st team were playing Siddal 2nds on the main pitch, no bother in that one.
Trainers, possibly coaches, and certainly spectators got involved in the the dust up. Don't think the ref had much choice when the idiots came on to the pitch. Believe it's happened more than once with them this season alone (Queens 2nds that is).
Up to the Pennine League now.

Premier Division
Siddal A 0 - 40 Queens

Fourth Division
Siddal B 24 - 16 Queens A -- Abandoned after 60 mins

Was it a case of getting it out the way in one weekend laugh.gif

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

You'll have to ask the Pennine League that one. They either thought it was agood idea or didn't even notice the computer had scheduled it. Assuming they have computers to do the fixture list.

Makes a lot off sense to me. Reduces the travelling costs for the away team.

I believe that the first and second team should travel together and play the same oposition on a saturday, for all conference sides.
This way, would certainly help with the clubs travelling costs.

A poster also makes mention of the Sharlston v Drighlington match being abandoned.
I know this is a NCL forum but this thread is about the Pennine league.
Anyone know if the match did get abandoned and if so why?

Queens first team are back at Siddal A next sat in Yorks Cup with Siddal Ists v Wath Brow. Should be a great day to stand at the top side between the two pitches. Eyes in the back of your head would come in handy! rolleyes.gif

Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine

Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea

So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie
'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

Makes some sense though not entirely as 2nd teams travelling from Yorkshire to Cumbria doesn't make much sense

The referee broke his collarbone in the 56th minute after an 'accidental' collision with a Sharlston player. He requested some attention from both team's physios but it was clear he couldn't continue, much to the frustration of the speccys (Drig in particular, as they were leading by 10 at the time).

Must come to the defence of Queens 1st team here, they had nothing at all to do with what happened on saturday, and both on the pitch and in the clubhouse were a credit .

Dont let's start building saturdays cup clash between siddal A and queens, there was nothing bad that went on during Queens 40 -0 win on saturday, We dont want another high profile game where things that happen OFF the field take over , good luck to Siddals seconds you will have to be mighty good to beat one of the top teams around.
I KNOW JACK SCHITT
