I have spoke to The 'Westmorland Gazette' in the recent past and they will publish our results (if we give them to them)
worth another call, they may be interested in more.

Brett has told me on Wednesday that James Nixon has provisionally agreed to play for his team as well with it being a touch tournament.

Be nice to see the lad on the field again after such a long layoff.

Thanks Mr Red Box btw for your efforts.

I am typing this as the Mail are preparing a piece on the event after I sent them details last night.
PLEASE let me know of anything that might be of interest to the media or may benefit from some publicity - preferably in plenty of time so I can release it via the club web-site - which will always be the first port of call.
I'll do the work - I just need details - particularly of anything community based.

Credit to the Mail - I asked for a plug for Brett and there is virtually a full page in Saturdays paper.
If James Nixon is to play can someone let me know as long as in advance as possible -will be a good stort for press and radio ( and bl**dy good news for the club).

Sunny intervals forecast for Sunday so there's really no excuse not to get down to CP and watch some rugby.

It promises to be a great day with almost 150 players participating.

A few questions.
1) the gates open at 12, what time does the first match actually start
2) How long does a match last?
3) what sort of food will be available, will it be the usual good matchday selection or a limited menu?
Thanks

A few answers
1, When the referee blows his whistle.
2, The duration the organisers have agreed on.
3, What sort of food available will not bother you, as all you do is spit it over people laugh.gif

1) 1PM, but get there early as the bar will be open and refreshments on sale. Also first chance to have a butchers at the new shop (now nearing completion) and the roof-less Willie Horne Way end.
2) Group games are 2 x 7.5 minute halves. Semi's and Final are 2 x 10 minute halves. All matches have a 1 minute half time.
3) No idea sorry.

The full schedule and team line-ups (correct when going to press) are available in the programme available on the day, priced at just 50p. Proceeds split between Brett's Testimonial Fund and the Redevelopment Fund.

Dave are you responsible for the media coming out of the club ?

If yes, please please keep the Westmorland Gazette fully informed, you never know if folk read enough stuff to get them interested they may take in a few games and become supporters.

Good luck Brett , hope its a grand day.
