Outside my front door is a small alleyway - nowt on one side apart from barns, and no other doorway but mine. It has access from one end for a car, and by foot from the other. I am on the end of the village. Its 75% grassed.

It is also used by seemingly half of the village dogs as their khazi (spl) of choice. They appear daily with a bog roll and copy of the daily mirror tucked under their front legs, and proceed to drop the shopping off.

Now, I know how to stop cats doing similarly, but is there any way to stop dogs? I'm sick to death of standing in dog poo.

Sprinkle quicklime on the grass. Burns the dogs pads (but not severely) just enough to make them not want to stay on it.

Alternatively, put up a dummy CCTV camera - its amazing how people's habits change if they think you're filming them (this only works where the dog is accompanied by its owner of course !).

The problem has got a lot worse since the disappearance of white dog poo. At least you had half a chance of avoiding it.

Have a pair of marigolds by the door and when a person out walking their pooch allows said pooch to deposit without picking it up, run outside pick it up and hurl it at them - it's their property and they have a right to have it back....

Fair enough Roy but if said poo contains peanuts, as has been graphically described by your good self in the past {with photographs), could the receiver of flying dog excrement sue you for being a salted.
