Since when did not existing be a barrier to entering the RLC?

laugh.gif

It's not a barrier to being included in fixtures up to kick off or in the case of this year's South Wales Championship being scheduled fixtures 6 weeks into the season.

Though in this case I think Gateshead Thunder are only RLCN standard so they won't be able to get a 2nd string of the appropriate standard for RLCN

Gateshead Storm merged with Newcastle Knights last season to form Newcastle Storm however are reverting back to Gateshead Storm for the upcoming season and are to be based in the Borough, as opposed to across the river where their previous base was.
That is correct that last season there was only an U13 side playing as Gateshead Storm, this year there will be U12s, U14s and Open Age.
The club is still going through a process of rebuilding after losing a lot of the squad to work commitments, relocation out of the area, and signing for professional neighbours Gateshead Thunder. While a return to RLCN is what we hope for, we accept that it is still too soon & so would rather set things in order before we are in a position to step up again.
A North East representation in the Competition is still a possibility yet so watch this space.....

Ah okay you're reverting good for Gateshead, not so good Newcastle lackong a team. Good to hear you're planning to improve but also not rushing. Guessing some kind of super club to represent the region is what you're implying? Given the comment earlier it won't be Peterlee as a stand alone I'd guess.

5 Years ago they would never have even been thought about in the Pennine, now there in

Much to Bowes displeasure, Underbank will be in again

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

It hasn't worked for them though has it!!! They have ended up potless!!!

Bramley and Warrington have both done them when it really mattered over the past 2 years.

Have heard that they may have lost a few players aswell for next season.

2 out of first 3 and it was a disgrace and everone else thought so

Now they couldn't pull that stunt as they'd be rightly banned from the playoffs not given the points or allowed to rearrange at their leisure to better further their title hopes when they have their best team

Underbank also after calling off the Gateshead gane went to the press blaming Gateshead, pretty disgraceful, in fact they deserved kickin out for bringing the game into disrepute.

Not even remotely the same as a club in an injury crisis calling a game off

Given the new rules that you can't make the playoffs after calling off games it won't be an issue. I can't guarantee Coventry or any other club will fulfil all games due to anyone having the risk of huge injury crises (though of course I expect and hope we will fulfil every game). However, we won't cynically call off and rearrange games for tactical reasons then blame the opposition in the press and intentionally rearrange the long distance away trip for them midweek in the middle of a huge injury crisis for them and claim the points.
