More than 500 primary school children have been getting active with the Rams over the past five weeks as part of Dewsbury Rams RLFC Trust's latest project "Get Active With The Rams", which has been funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

Thornhill Junior & Infants School were first to complete their five week programme this week, quickly followed by Overthorpe Junior & Infants School, St Paulinus Primary School and Chickenley Community School. Almost every child in each school has been involved in the project which taught them fundamental sports skills like hand-eye co-ordination and balance; gave them a chance to try lots of different sports including rugby, football, cricket, hockey and dodgeball; helped them understand the importance and benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle; and gave them everything they need to know to join a local club to continue playing the sports they enjoyed.

The Community Development Team will be straight back into action with their second group of schools next week and are looking forward to another exciting five weeks spreading the message of "Get Active With The Rams".
