Super League club Crusaders entered administration on Friday.

The troubled Welsh club released a statement saying that inherited debt had "made the business untenable".

Crusaders faced a winding up order from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs over unpaid tax, but last week confirmed they had repaid the amount owing.

Joint administrators Peter O'Hara and Simon Weir have been appointed, although O'Hara indicated he was hopeful that the club could be saved.

"There was a high level of support and enthusiasm towards Super League rugby in its first season in Wrexham which exceeded the club's expectations," O'Hara said.

"We are currently pursuing a number of options and are talking to interested parties and the RFL [Rugby Football League] in the hope that a solution can be found to the club's current difficulties which would enable it to go forward and maintain rugby league in Wales."

In what way are 'Crusaders' more deserving of a Super League license than us ??

They've gone into administration twice in 2 years, had to move from Bridgend to Wrexham (the equivelant distance of moving the Raiders to Glasgow), have to rely on away fans and free tickets to crack 3,000 crowds and were only in a position to apply for SL in the first place because their 6 illegal immigrant players won them promotion from NL2 in 2007.

I presume they'll start next season on minus points. I bet they still get a license for 2012 though.

Why should Barra get a license? your ground is a toilet, getting there the biggest cul-de-sac in the country, you have no reserve team, there are many more deserving teams than you, Widnes, Halifax, Sheffield, Leigh, Batley, Toulouse, to name a few, you might be ready IN THE YEAR 2525 as Zager and Evans might say.
Send in the Clowns they know what they are talking about.we may dress funny but we talk sense.Ive yet to see a funny Auss comedian, plenty of clowns though.

Sheffield, Leigh, Batley, Toulouse ?? Get a grip fella. Sheffield were there and failed, same goes for Leigh (who should be in Champ1), Batley can't get 1,000 through the turnstyles (and don't want to get into SL) and Toulouse have done nothing to warrant entry (other than being another Jolly to France for the Sky team).

You really are Charlie Cairoli aren't you. Clown.
