Rugby League is a sport that desperately needs to expand its geographical supporter base and its player base. This imperative means that all other requirements are secondary until this is done.
All power in the game should be with governing bodies, especially international governing bodies.
Without these actions we will remain a minor sport internationally and nationally.

is there any winter rugby league played in Carlisle at the moment?
I remember st nicholas (pub?) playing in the cumberland league a few years ago but sense it is an rl winter desert at the moment.

Some schools & colleges activity started by Louise Graham (dev't officer) but many of the local lads play for Elbra in winter IIRC.

Until about 5 years ago they had a Carlisle team in the Cumberland League, but think they merged into the summer side or something along those lines.
What about the future of Carlisle, are they joining the North West Premier next year? Assume the ideal would be if the Cumberland League moves to summer?
