Doubt it. I you refer to my previous post above, the softening up process has already begun with news programs mentioning the possible funding options. The BBC worded it along the lines of

the Prince is very mindful of the current economic climate so the royal family may contribute to the wedding cost.

Looks to me like Dave's 'All in it together' will be going right out of the window on this one.

Grandad was a builder, great grandad was a joiner and G. G. Grandad worked down the pits in the North East.
So, she really is a commoner.

She isn't aristocracy (although apparently she can trace her ancestry to the Boleyns) but she is certainly Upper Middle class rather than the Middle Class the media makes her out to be.

I think it is fair enough. Given a choice, I'd imagine that Kate and Wills would rather have a wedding ceremony with their mates & family and no TV cameras. Instead they get an international "event" with loads of invited guests that they've probably never met before but happen to be important in international politics.

Not from me. Perhaps we should give "Wills" a job as a helicopter pilot (despite him being as good at flying them as the average tramp) to make him appealing to the public. Oh hang on he's not, but the media seem to be telling us we're all excited. Thus far I haven't met anyone that's remotely bothered, except for the fact they're going to be paying for the wedding and that they're already sick of the fawning over a couple of posh tw_ts getting married by the BBC.

I bet a youtube video of "Wills" having a ###### would get media attention and yet he manages to do that in private; so why not his wedding?
