Hunslet Hawks have appointed their former player and coach Mark Cass as assistant coach to current player-coach Paul March.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said " Were thrilled to have Mark back on board with us again, he is Hunslet through & through and was looking to get back involved in the game that's been his life for over 20 years. His main responsibilities will be on match days although he will also have some input on the training field. "
Williams added " This appointment will allow Steve Parnell to concentrate his energies as part of our development team working in the schools and communities of South Leeds and also sees current reserve grade coach Gary Lord promoted to Team Manager. I am pretty sure that with a coaching team of Paul, Gary & Mark our future is in safe hands and the experience they all have in the game stands us in good stead for the coming season. "
Meanwhile the Hawks have added Andrew Langford to the backroom staff as Conditioner.

Well chuffed for Mark, Hunslet through and through, be nice to hear his missus shouting her head off again in the stand

"Hawks Strengthen Backroom Staff"???? Really? By taking on a massive coaching failure in Mark Cass? I mean, he hardly coached Hunslet to the halcyon days did he!!! Who next, Graeme Hallas? hahaha

Good guy is Cassy, made 1 serious error in his life and has paid the penalty, hopefully people can forgive and forget and let him get on with what he does best
