This is probably a stupid question to ask but.......what happened last time?

One of their players, young ashley Mcdonald who was only 21...i think, died. Thats why they didnt travel to Queens.

If thats the case I can't see reason why they shouldn't have been allowed to call the game off. Seems a good enough reason to me.

The current rule goes something like this, and caused some concern last season:

`Postponed games must normally be re-arranged for the following weekend. Should the game look likely to be unfit for a second time, the Competition Secretary will have the discretion to determine an alternative venue, which may mean the game will be transferred to their opponent's ground.`

Not sure why a club with home advantage should lose that advantage, when the opposition are equally not in a position to stage the tie anyway. huh.gif

So with the current conditions a team gets called off at home twice. That team then loses home advantage.

What another fantastic BARLA idea!!!!!!!

Not necessarily. Weather conditions can be very different across the country.

I think the use of the words " equally not in a position to stage" makes your "not necessarily" wide of the mark.

Fair enough, didn't quite get that first read through. Although there are a lot of games played by clubs on rules like this. I remember some farcical stuff going on when my son played Union and the rule was that the tie was automatically reversed.

I sugest BARLA put there hand in there very large pocket & arrange local contractors to come & clear all our pitches ? How many games are been played this weekend ? I understand some Barla big wig has told our U15s they have got to go cas on sun ? its not there fault our pitches are under 18" of snow / ice.
