West Hull 50 Siddal 20
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Easts had one sent off (big fella wearing scrum cap) in first half, Brow had one sent off 10 mins from end.
The East player (Steve Ormisher) was sent off for tripping, what actually happened was he was wrong footed and slipped on the heavy surface and the Brow player fell over his legs. The refs reasoning when questioned about the decission was that the Brow player would have scored, very much a doubt as three East players were in front of him as he went to ground. If he wasn't going to score it would have been 10mins. On a clay based slippy pitch like Brows a forward will go to ground if he gets turned quickly.
The Wath Brow player was sent off for raised elbow.

the loss of trevor penrose and jason bell to injuries before half time made it very dificult, on the bright side there were good signs in a lot of Skirlaughs play and Stand Off Jamie Shaul at 18 years old looked very good
All credit to the Miners outfit who stuck to the task despite going down to 12 men

Leigh Miners made it three wins on the bounce after coming from 16-12 down with twelve men to finish strongly in the final quarter to win 30-16 against a tough Skirlaugh outfit. Miners started the stronger of the two teams and took the lead early in the game when winger Linford Weatherby scored a good individual try, Tom Bradbury converting to put the home side 6-0 in front and that lead was increased further with Bradbury adding a penalty goal from under the sticks to give an 8-0 scoreline. Skirlaugh come back strongly and had plenty of good field position for the rest of the half and were rewarded with a try from a scrum out wide, the kick converted off the touchline to put them within two points of Miners at 8-6. The home side grabbed there second try with a few minutes remaining stand off Martin Lewis going through a gap to score out on the left, giving Miners a 12-6 advantage going into the half time break.
The second half was all Skirlaugh in the opening ten minutes as they scored two tries, the first was from there stand off as he stepped through the Miners defence to score to tie the game up at 12-12, and soon after they took the lead after picking up a loose ball on the half way to score in the corner, Miners Darryl Kay sent off following the try as the visitors took the lead at 16-12. After being reduced to twelve men Miners had to dig deep and they did just that, John Woods got Miners back level scoring under the sticks, Bradbury converting to put them 18-16 in front and that was followed by a Bradbury try in the left corner to give the score 22-16 as the home side finished strongly in the final quarter. Bradbury added his second penalty goal to give Miners a eight point lead and MOM Scott O’Brien finished the game off with a try under the sticks after chipping over the Skirlaugh defence to dive over to score, Bradbury converting to give Miners a hard earned 30-16 victory.

Heworth scrum half, 5 stone wet through and 4 tf 7in got annoyed with Kev Dickens for some reason and as both sides were lining up for the next play the ball he sneaked up behind Kev and gave him a smack at the back of the head, Kev just turned and laughed at him as did all 34 players and the ref, he got yellow carded and walked off knowing he had just made a right tool of himself

It's all subjective as to which team you follow. Obviously I'm biased towards East.
